There is Nerf War....Should we have a Merchant day just for trading and buying?

Hi oznerf! Not sure where this topic should be posted! Anyways, I keep wondering: Why there is Nerf war but there is no Nerf Trading day? Normally, trading session is mixed with Nerf war at the begining of the day so there is a limited amount of time to do so and I havent seen anyone celebrated any individual Nerf Trading day which is for anyone and everyone who wants to buy and sell only. So I think if we can organize 1 event like this, there will be more merchants and more buyers. Increasing the maximum possibility for both buyers and sellers to sell and buy their stuffs. And besides that, reducing the amount of posts and threads on the forum. Just an idea to improve the forum and also Nerf's popularity. It's like a whole new market for Nerf. What do you think?

No, just no.

I wasn't under the impression that this forum needed a(ny) clean-up from trading related matters. Not only that, but I'm also under the impression that I'd be wasting my time expecting the vast majority of lowballers that seem to lurk around here refrain from rocking up to a trading day.

From time to time, I'd be happy to post my wares of what I'm willing to sell at wars. But I only do that as a secondary thing since my main reason for driving out is to actually nerf. And the added bonus of not disclosing certain wares gives an incentive for people to actually rock up to a war.

Perhaps if the topic starter actually got involved with the Melbourne scene rather than baiting people on the forum, he may not have an issue selling things in the first place.

I really see no need for it. Seeing as we're not in Adelaide, we don't really have enough people buying/selling to make a fixed time a problem. Maybe in Adelaide, it would work, but not down in Melbourne... Anyway, you can organise stuff on the forums then just organise to meet at a war...

Or you could just do both...

We don't need it here in Adelaide, as we war often enough and most of us post in the war thread if we will be bringing anything to sell. Dedicated sale days would be fail.

The problem is the lack of dedication of forum members trying to 'attend wars'. None of their excuses are valid for not coming. Oh it's too far away, etc. Bottomline is most forum members who don't attend wars are more like "I CBF".

If the problem is that the members don't have 'modified blasters', then they're just being little girls. At our most recent Nerf War, we had these dads who came in with completely stock blasters against our 80ft+ shooting blasters.

Didn't stop them from getting a 'tag' or two. They just rush, dodged, hid and shot. Just get into YOUR RANGE, and then start firing. It's as simple as that.

Dude, I'd love to turn up, but 1500km round-trip is a bit crazy. For people in the city though, you're right, there's really not that many excuses outside of work/family commitments.

Nah. I'm speaking about the ones who actually live near Nerf Warring areas and only is a half hour to 40minute trip to get there.

Which reminds me clunk07, I think the best way to do it is get people in your neighbour to participate. I know this guy who lives in birkdale (near straddy) he's managed to get aruond 12 people in his neighbourhood into and they war on a weekly basis :).

Exactly, the only weapin I took to the afore mentioned war was a short sword. Sure every single person outranged me, evwn a kid with a raider that was lucky to get 4ft, but I still got atleast 20 tags.

Range is nice, but it's definatly not needed, ask any of the regular brissie guys, my names is switchBLADE for a reason

Yeh, I knew what you meant mate. I was just pointing out how some people in certain areas get it easy, by having people organise wars for them, then they CBF turning up. Pretty frickin' ordinary!!

I'm working on a bit of a set-up in my town. I've already got 6 people organised, so we're on our way. The hardest part out here is getting days off from work to align with everyone, seeing as people work some strange shifts (most particularly myself).

I'm very glad you've brought that point up.

If members are going to feel undermined with arsenals packed with the basic stock to AR-removed blasters, surely there should be a couple of adept nerfers who are willing to arrange a trade scheme of swapping away modified blasters and receiving stock blasters and cash in return.
I tried to do that at some stage, only to find that people didn't actually turn up.

Of course, that's sidetracking the main point a bit.

Imagine using only a melee weapon, I wonder how many tags you would get.
