Re: No longer for sale
Yes, I declined sending the front barrel back because I meant I have to pay more for shipping cost and have to wait longer because I can start this brass breech mod. Bought a tube cutter myself from Bunnings for $8 and created 6 tightening rings and the dart stay in the barrel well and when I blew into the barrel, the dart flew out well. So I created good tightening rings, not too loose and not too tight, just right.

Re: No longer for sale
I too installed my own tightening rings, as Oxy had forgot this on mine as well. Not that it was a problem, I actually preferred to do it myself anyway. I too replaced the wheel with a washer, to ensure no mistakes.
The only issue I have with tightening rings, is if you put the first one too close to the half-pipe, it flares the end a little, which can cause issues with the 19/32 closing over it (a friend of mine discovered this first, which prevented me from the having the same problem).
I'd like to try putting the tightening rings in prior to cutting the half-pipe. My theory is that because the tube is still whole, the structural integrity is greater, which should reduce the effects of the flaring.
Apart from a minor mis-alignment similar to Akimbo's, I can't fault the breech made by Oxy. I managed to reduce the friction between the 9/16 barrel half-pipe and 1/2 and 19/32 bolt by sanding down the half-pipe. Gave it a bit of a polish with the Dremel, and it functions properly. Admittedly, had I of taken a little more time when gluing on the bolt-sled nub, I could've positioned it better so that the barrel half-pipe slid in to the slightly larger gap in the bolt, which would have eliminated any issues.

Re: No longer for sale
Received,
Unfortunately I am moving location this weekend so will not be able to work on installing it.
Looks like it has a slight alignment issue but it still opens and closes fine from what I can see (never done a brass breech before so I hope I don't stuff it up. Thanks for everything Oxy!
Will update you on progress once I can work on it (and build up enough courage to slice up the original plunger tube).

Re: No longer for sale
I was one of the earliest buyers of Finn's brass breech, however at this moment I have decided to move on to other projects so to help fund them, I'm selling my brass breech.
Just because I'm looking for a quick buck, and the fact I think oxy was a bit generous at the $30 price tag, I'm selling mine for $35.
Check my trading thread

Re: No longer for sale
I'm sorry to say I just don't have the time to be doing any more of these any time soon. I have had interest from about 20 people since the first batch but I'm flat out making enough for my own use.
I know I told a lot of people I would pm them when more were available but at this stage it just doesn't seem viable. Work and family is consuming all my time right now.

Mate work and family come well before a hobby. Just let us know when production starts up again.

Pending my ability to get some brass next week, and Oxy's blessing of course, I may be able to help out with production. I will converse with Oxy, and see where we end up.

Re: No longer for sale
Okay guys, Oxy has accepted my offer to assist on fabrication of LongShot brass breeches.
Price will be $32 each plus postage, as I have to pay a little more for my brass.
I currently have 3 units manufactured, waiting on more brass to arrive next week.

If it's exactly the same, can you please reserve one for me?
I should be able to pay for it within a month.

Re: No longer for sale
I'm pretty sure someone's said so in the threads already (just for the sake of confirmation), but can the breeches accommodate streamlines ? Or, if not that, Bluefoam perhaps ? And just for the sake of it, would Stefans work well ?
Thanks
Thanks

Re: No longer for sale
Pretty sure this breech can accept any darts AS LONG as it's streamline length or shorter. If it's even 1mm too long, the streamline may not feed (although won't be an issue).

Is a Dremel still needed after getting this kit? To cut off part of the plastic bolt? Part 8 of the SGnerf guide?

Re: No longer for sale
Stock streamline darts work in the breech, well, mine do anyway.
@Redcricket077 - a dremel/rotary tool would be beneficial, but I'm sure it's possible without one. A bit of imagination will go a long way. Use an old soldering iron to melt/cut the plastic, a hacksaw will do it as well if you take your time. A knife/file can be used to clean up the cuts, and to trim down the nub so it will fit inside the plunger casing when the brass is opened. You could also use a bench/angle grinder for this also.

A PM wouldn't hurt mate. I've got a bit of backlog commissions etc at present, but I should hopefully have more breeches fabricated within the next 2 weeks.

Lots of interest in these lately but I just don't have the time to make them anymore.
I'm still selling all the individual lengths for you to do it yourself though.
