Not too sure if this would be the right place, but here goes.

I purchased a new red dot sight from Deals Direct about 2 weeks ago, and it finally arrived yesterday. Here are some pics of it's temporary mounting on my new Stampede.

For the money spent, it is a great sight. Now I know that some out there would question the need for a sight like this, but this is purely for the "Tacticool" look. It comes with 11 brightness settings, and 4 different reticles.

The only negative I had about this was the fact that it only comes with fittings for a Dovetail (11mm) rail, and not the Weaver rail like the nerf guns (20mm). Henceforth, my mod was to:

Take the flip sight that came with the Vulcan,

Remove the sight from the base,

Remove the Dovetail fittings from the new sight,

Place the RDS onto the base and use one of the Minister For War's Hairbands as a temporary binding.

All in all, I am pretty happy with it. I am thinking of buying a converter rail to make the fitting more snug and proper, but for now I think it looks cool. Even the War Minister likes it!

Nice one, I used the Recon sight to attach a flashlight to, lucky for me, my Reflex sight from DX was natively compatible with the Tac Rail.

I was reading your post on this and this was what made me think of getting a sight. I have been able to find a seller on Ebay who sells pairs of Dovetail-Weaver converters for around $15, so I will probably buy a pair in the future.

I have the exact same sight on one of my older modified LShots. The variable reticle's are quite cool!

To mount it, I just glued a strip of plastic/acrylic/polycarb to the inside of the mount. Not on the side that is fixed, but the side that slides.

It's quite sturdy as well. Obviously, not as good as an adapter, but alot cheaper.

Just a word of caution, make sure to turn it off once you're finished. My drunken neighbour left mine on, and now the reticle is severely ghosted, to the point where the scope really is just for tacticool now.

That looks really nice well done. The converters would be a good idea from now onwards.
