I've been asked many times what springs I use and where I get them. I don't get them from McMaster Carr because I'm lucky enough to have access to local stores that have decent springs.
These are the main springs I use:
From left to right:
C-874 Century Spring Corp. AKA, the 'MAN' spring.

1-3/8 x 6 x .120 (inches)
34.925 x 152.4 x 3.048 (millimeters)
6 in. (free length) - 1.68 in. (solid length) = 4.32 in. (maximum length change)
4.32 in. * 13 lb./in. (force needed to move 1 in.) = 56.16 lb. (force needed for total compression)
Obviously, the force required to make a total compression is more than the suggested safe maximum load.
I used to get this from http://www.ottawafastenersupply.com for $8.44 a piece but now order them from here:

So far I've only tried this in my Octshot but I'm going to see if it will work in my newly acquired RFSG.

812 - Length = 10", OD = 0.875", ID = 0.679", rate = 13lbs/in, max load = 130lbs.
810 - Length = 6", OD = 0.938", ID = 0.778", rate = 6lbs/in, max load = 36lbs.
047 - Length = 3.5", OD = 0.875", ID = 0.715, rate = 11.2lbs/in, max load = 39.2lbs.
I buy these at my local mom and pop shop, Preston Hardware
Campi hasn't gotten back to me on prices yet. But Preston has these for $5.99, $4.99 and $1.99 each respectively.
I haven't used the 812 in anything yet but I'm trying to create a home made based on the Max Shot and put it in. I'll need the lever system to compress this to at least 5 inches.
I use the 810 in my current Octo because of the ROF. The C-874 is powerful but the ROF is too low for my style of play. RUSHING!!!
I use the 047 in all my pistols. It gives me a consistent 70' - 80' every time.
The 2 bag-o-random springs I bought from Princess Auto for $4 a bag.
I generally use these as catches and random support.
