    Then grab this piece
Nerf Vortex Blaster Mods- Proton DSC_0145
And take out this piece, Then if you look closely there is another screw hole further away, move the small metal bar and the screw to the next screw port.

Canberra & Southern NSW Dart Tag's jam ALOT, Here is what people have said

Canberra & Southern NSW Dart Tag (Nerf Wars, HvZ)
‎(Shaun) So out of the Vortex blasters, the Praxis I bought doesn't work, and the proton is underwelming. Between the Vigilon and Niton, I think that the Vigilon is the funnest to play with.

Alastair Iln Tay How about the Proton versus the Vigilon?

Michael 'watto' Watson hmmm i bought the 3 smaller guns and i found them getting a goo 40 fot stock and no jams at all, really smooth firing and all
    Yesterday at 12:18am

Canberra & Southern NSW Dart Tag (Nerf Wars, HvZ) ‎[Chris] There is a weak spot in the praxis...

Cheyne Lambert Yeah. i found that the praxis feels very weak inside when i pump the pump thingy. I was testing RoF on it and in 10 shots jammed it twice. The second time it stayed jammed, the disk came out and the clip dropped fine but the pump is jammed the gun is primed and it just wont fire.

Canberra & Southern NSW Dart Tag (Nerf Wars, HvZ) ‎(Shaun) its the same issue I have.

    Cheyne Lambert Damn.

Canberra & Southern NSW Dart Tag (Nerf Wars, HvZ) ‎[Chris] I believe im going to try picking up some cheap/jammed Vortex blasters when i come back
    Yesterday at 9:37am

Cheyne Lambert I've fixed mine. i just smacked it into the ground a few times now its good. The priming handle still catches on the return every time but only on the first disk in the clip.

Michael 'watto' Watson i found after a few uses the discs foam kinda starts to move away from the plastic and i find the plastic kinda grips onto other discs and sometimes causes the disc to stick into the clip a little
    Yesterday at 11:08am

Cheyne Lambert The vigilon seems to be the more solid and reliable out of the 3 spring powered blasters.

Jasyn Holland i like the proton. I was thinking a praxis next, but if what you guys are saying is true, maybe the vigilon is the way to go....

Lols, I'm an admin for that group.

I had a play with some of the pre-production ones floating around and had no problems. Would have put 10-15 full clips through mine and again, no problems. The only time I got it to jammed was when someone asked me if it could slam-fire. I didn't think it would but it was worth a shot. Jammed it up like no tomorrow.

Likewise. You should put up lock removal also. I've done them and it's great. I can just deprime it

Ive repaired one of the praxis' and there is part of the mech that gets jammed upwards sometimes. A stronger spring and grease fixed the issue with it jamming. However you could just remove the safeties and deprime/move the cocking handle as another solution.

    Havent looked into that yet.

    Cheers.

Anyone want to give me some jammed ones?

Firstly whilst off-topic regarding the Praxis: I've got two, and both had different problems.

The first one had a constant problem where if I pulled the trigger too early before the "pump" was in the returned position, the clip which came with it would fall out. This was NOT the case when I used the Nitron 20 disk clip in it.

I bought a second Praxis. The clip that came with that worked fine in the first Praxis... so I assumed at the time it was just an issue with the first magazine. But then lo and behold; the Nitron 20 disk magazine would literally jam when trying to return the "pump" to firing position. I was able to fix this by opening up the magazine, at the rear there is a long post with a spring at the bottom. Took it all out; works fine now. I don't even know why but it does.

So now I have my first Praxis which has the drop-out problem, and the second one now works after modding the Nitron magazine to suit. But now after reading what has been posted so far I worry that once I've modded it maybe it will cause more problems =_=

Back on topic with the Proton mod -- 2 questions to those who have done this already:

    1. Any likelyhood (or need?) for more powerful torque springs? I assume they may need to be custom made though... but in theory at least for now?

    2. Are there any parts likely to be put under more strain / in need of reinforcing, either due to this mod with stock spring, or when putting in a more powerful one?
