I'm currently using ts + ls combo for testing but when it's together, just the ts spring.Unknown wrote:Have you got enough spring power in there? I find mine fit quite firmly in the PT and often require a bit of squishing but I lube them well and have a decent spring combo.

Enough lube will get you through. Assuming you're using the stock plunger tube, sometimes it is a bit tight. I cut around the lip a bit.

Clips
Guys I was just reading around and I saw that if the padding on your LS is too thick it won't accept clips, how is this possible?

Re: The Questions Thread.
The bolt piece is unable to slide back far enough so that the opening isn't large enough to fit a clip. The priming rod is lengthened by the padding stopping the bolt from reaching it's full draw.

What?
I dont understand..
My would padding on the plunger rod stop from moving backit's not like theres friction against the plunger tube!

Well even if you don't understand, take unknown's advice. It's not about friction against the plunger tube.

You can't, the serial number may be a different colour. Unfortunately you can't see that without opening the box and even then you still can't be sure.
Try purchasing one off the various overseas forums like NerfHaven, Nerf HQ, NerfRevolution or SGNerf.

Longshot
Hey guys just a quick question..
Since the spring combo in my LS is a AT + NF + Stock LS spring, when I fire the LS I hear the rattle of the NF spring after the shot is this normal due to the shorter length of the NF spring?
Why is it that everynow and then my LS ranges change for example I shoot a converted streamline it goes 70 feet. I go to pick it up and fire it again and it gets 50-60 Why?

You're right, some of the springs are shorter, but also because of the OD of the springs. If they're all the same, you'd hear less of a rattle because they're coiled into each other. But imo, you should get an SS spring or the springs Oxy are selling - they're great for longshots.

So
So everything occuring to me and my LS is normal?
I would get some SS or Oxy springs but im a weak little twig, I cant even prime a
LS spring with BBB even with 2 hands!

McMaster is US only. They used to ship international (5 years ago or something) but don't any more due to the hassle. If you need anything from there you'll need someone in the US, or maybe a forwarding service.

The reason the same dart will vary in distance is probably due to a heap of factors but the main ones would be the that the stock bolt is only tight on a small section of back of the dart which means it will make a better seal some times than others. Also, If the dart bounces of the inside walls of the faux barrel at all on the way out, this will effect range and I have never found a converted streamline to be very accurate.

Well
Is the NF spring rattling normal?
Also I figured the ranges vary was because I was hand feeding the darts and sometimes I pushed it further back and sometimes I let the dart tooth do it's work. Probably the reason.

Re: The Questions Thread.
The Selley's Knead it is fantastic. Haven't used the Tamiya one though.
Two really big thumbs up:
- Easy to apply, especially for small areas it acts like a building block eg: putting screws into, sanding/filing down to make specific angles or shapes, filling gaps especially for things like catch or trigger reinforcement, etc.
- Sets ROCK HARD... I have yet to see any of my putty crack or break even after being treated harshly like being dropped or even thrown around once applied to a blaster project.
Thumbs down:
- Expensive for the small amount you get. Don't waste it by making sure you roughly measure how much you need to use.
- Set hard a little too quickly if in a sunny / warm place. Try not to have the heater going or sit by a window on a sunny day *WHILE* applying it. It's not necessarily a bad thing that it sets quickly... but under those conditions it can put you under unwanted pressure to get it right quicker.

Re: The Questions Thread.
Yeah that's the cheapest one from Bunnings... the multipurpose one, 50g for about 7 dollars.
Due to cost, I've yet to try the 'aqua' or the 'steel' ones, I would assume the latter would be stronger, given the price and that it's supposed to be in use with steel. I'll let you know. But as zandor said it's alright in most situations. Sometimes it's a matter of trial and error, sometimes it's just realizing even rock hard putty falls off in pressurised situations.

Re: The Questions Thread.
Longshot and tripleshot spring combos work well for quadshots, with a bathplug plunger, I was getting a good 30m at minimum. Otherwise, order one of Oxy's or SS's 13kg springs, they work wonders. And what's a nice aftermarket spring that I could get for my quadshot without buy online?

Re: The Questions Thread.
I'd highly prefer something I could get at bunnings or other places because I have no spare springs lying around and the chance of me being able to purchase online is quite low.Bacara wrote:Longshot and tripleshot spring combos work well for quadshots, with a bathplug plunger, I was getting a good 30m at minimum. Re: The Questions Thread.
Sadly, the only spring with a chance of fitting is the c-836, but even that's too tight around the plunger rod. You could buy it and test it out, but you'd have to shave the sides of the rod far too much for it to pay off.

Re: The Questions Thread.
I suppose the best way for you would be to buy a spring off someone online and meet up with them and exchange goods and cash. Like Bacara said unless you source them from industrial spring manufacturers it'll be hard - the springs SS, Oxymoron, Servulus etc. have found aren't easily accessible in retail stores

Yes, it's too short and therefore bounces in the plunger tube. You can't really fix that, so why not try a Recon/Raider spring?

Yes, because the NF springs aren't long enough for the PT.

How can a clip system gun be modified so that shorter darts are pushed further down the barrel?
I'm guessing it would be something to do with modifying the barrel part of the gun

I've thought of that before but if you open it up and look at how the blaster works you'll find that it's impossible.
