dart modification, tagger darts, steamlines and stefans only.

At the top of a streamline you will see a little hole, this is a mod where you will need a shotgun shell or small pellets, any kind of glue (recommended hot glue) and will be increasing the weight of the tip of the streamline, or tagger darts.

If u have a B or A-B gun licence, you would most likely own a shotgun, the best recommended for this is a 12 gauge shell, (carefully with pliers or a blade) cut open the top of the shell, atleast 30 or so pellets will fall out so have a container under where you are opening it, when u have safely disposed of the remains of the shell, pick up 1-3 pellets, and push them though the hole, then hot gluing the orifice you pushed them through. these act as a very good weight for un-modded darts, creating improved accuracy between close and short range, also when you hit the target it will hit it alot harder.

Stefan mod:

before you create the top of the stefan dart, do a little bit, and push 2-3 pellets into the glue before you put the other amount of glue over that. and wallah! heavier, harder, more accurate stefans.

Wouldnt it be dangerous to be shot with a tagger or streamline that has shotgun pellets in it?

no, you would need gunpowder or the power to move the pellets at over 1000 ft a second for them to be dangerous. and they are secured in the front bit of the dart. so they only act as a weight for the dart, nothing dangerous about it unless u hit someone in the face or nut sack XD

my criticism...

A) this is nothing new
B) you dont have any pictures (which good write ups have)
C) if you have an A/B gun license you could purchase BB's which are much better weights...
D) cutting open shotgun shells is not the smartest thing to do, and I doubt if many of you 13 yr old kids on here have gun licenses...

no problem :). oh and aj, its not dangerous opening a shotgun shell from the front, unless its a very old shell, because a shotgun shell has a very little amount of gun powder, and needs a powerful force from the behind to spark it, so theres no worries about opening it. just putting it out there not contradicting you but im the one that has done this many times

If you had a Cat. A/B firearms licence and had access to 12GA shells, you'd also know that you can buy these pellet in massive packets from Firearms stores. Though it can be tricky with the paperwork and everything. Yes this had been tried and tested. Works well if you get it right.

mmm true, but i dont go with my dad when he buys ammunition, but i dont make my own shells anyway.

I realise it can be pretty safe to cut open a shotgun shell if you do it right, I personally have done it many times also without any incident, however I just think we may want to encourage people to first seek methods not involving live ammunition before we go down that road lol

yes, i agree it would be safer to use a bb. but i dont own one, but the alternative to both would be a sinker, i fish too, but all my weights are too heavy for a streamline and would make it fly about 5 metres. yeh, so i recommend only use the shell method, "IF" you our your parent has a gun license and if you are under 18, well... parents permission you know..

Or... you could go out and BUY particular BB's/Splitshot sinkers/buckshot specifically for making Nerf darts... just a thought...
