Feedback - Discussion and Showcase Threads? Empty Feedback - Discussion and Showcase Threads?

First of all, I just realised there is a massive thing that will clutter up the forum and that's the mixture of discussion and showcase of Nerf Guns. As you all know, there are questions asked, but never really answered (minus those silly Vs. questions, but that's just the fact the person wants an opinion on something. I do agree that they should do they're research though). Solution?

Making two different 'types' of threads... For Example.... Yes, I know we have a separate thread for "Show your Blasters here", but these forums seem cluttered because making a 'discussion' is almost impossible because they end up being a "msn chat" type thread, which should be allowed unless they're very silly comments such as "True," instead of "True, I'll try to do that, any idea how?" as an example.

Modification Showcase (or Write-Up) / Discussion (Oh my god I need help with a gun)
    Homemade Showcase / Discussion
Nerf Gun Showcase / Discussion (we already have one [General Nerf] as a separate thread, but using it as an example)

But, I'm just saying, I reckon it would be a little better if we had discussion and showcase topics to separate the discussion from the real guns, as I'm sure everyone who begins to navigate through this sites for mods have trouble finding it because there is a large mixture discussion (w/o pictures) and small amounts of actual modification (w/ pictures).

Also, I've always wondered, with those 'spam' questions you end up locking it up, but never do you ever delete it, I thought admins have the power to do so.

For example, Looking for Aj's write up within the modification section is a bitch because even though it clearly says " Writeup - AirTech 2000 - AT 2k - ridiculously easy, non destructive barrel replacement. + Pump Plugged ", but how did I try to find that? I had to go through all this shit about "Oh my god my gun doesn't work, do you think this mod will work? HELP!!!," Type topics before I actually find this write up. Unless we have a directory (which we shouldn't need one because 'apparently' we're trying not to be a NH) then it'll be much easier to navigate through the forums...

I've always wondered why admins lock the thread? isn't there a way you can delete the topic completely? If you guys are trying to avoid cluttering up of the forum, why don't you just delete it?

I think the HOW TO section is a bit useless... writeups should be in the mods or homemades section and this should be THE MAIN CONTENT of these sections.

I think instead of HOW TO a "Learning" forum should be made. We had one of these on another forum I'm on called "the (forum name) university"

Basically only people of a certain calibre (contributors/Mods) can start post, and the topics put up are for reading only. Basically it's the first place everyone should go before asking a question.. threads like "diffinitive barrel guide" "dartsmithing guide" "Guide to plastics" "guide to solvent welds" etc would go here, so people know where to go to read before asking

AJ, that is a TOP idea mate!

But how do you decide who can post and who can't.
Also, as this forum is phpbb2 (i think) we can make it that only 1 user group can make posts every one else can only reply to them (for suggestions and questions)

    Chinnerz wins.

No, I think that would be littlebro05 who wins for presenting the problem, and Coincidentally it is Oznerf and its members who ultimately wins.
    Awesome picture though

Haha thanks Chinnerz, though you're the one who elaborated on this. It seems that a lot of the 'higher-ups' of this forum doesn't want this turning into NerfHaven, but unfortunately, it already has become this? The problem? Maybe because the oznerf forum topics aren't organised very well. If you guys want half the forum to be at least not like NH then organisation is needed. So the spam (or discussions / questions) can stay on one side of the forum and the important guides on the other.

Anyone know why admins can only lock but not delete a thread?
