NERF CROSSBOW found in adelaide toyworld *MUST SEE*

I went into toyworld yesterday and saw this;



So, you'll want the details right?

It was $80 and it was the last one they had out of a case of 4.

I WONT be selling and I will be keeping it NEW IN BOX

Crossbow needs to be mean judging by the look of the kid on the box.

Nice score - there's one on ebay for $150 in the USA, and it's not NIB.

That's incredible. For something over 15 years old, that's a bargain. Especially when it's a Crossbow. No offence meant by this, but what's the point of keeping this in NIB if you're not going to sell it?

PS: I like the looks of those TONKA toy trucks in the corner! they can make a mean letter box!!

Can't put letters in the crossbow, but if you wrap them around the arrows I'm sure you could use it to send them.

Hooray time to tell you why. THIS CROSSBOW was the predecessor of the +BOW. The +BOW was created to mimic the CROSSBOW as they had a LARGE plunger size it was ridiculously big. Must of been sitting in the back of stock for like 15years. Lol.

Yes I know all that but the manager must know about Nerf guns to sell this for 80 bucks

If he knew Nerf, he'd have bought it himself and sold it on ebay.

Chaos showed it to me first on chatbox. I believed him then he went and said something funny and ruined the joke :P.

I also found it funny how he took photos of his titan coupler with the box as a background and sent them to me for future reference

Explain to me why this scenario isn't plausible. I just purchased a Lego set from a small toy store in a rural town that was BNIB, and that particular set was discontinued approximately 22 years ago. I paid $40 for it in a clearance bin, and it will sell for over $500 on certain sites. That definitely "trumps" a 15-year-old Nerf Blaster.

The plausability was gone as soon as anyone looked at the date.

I think you'll find that the likelihood of this event happening was negated once the date of the post was observed.

The plausibility of purchasing a vintage blaster from a store remains the same, regardless of whether it was April 1st or not. I've had multiple experiences where I've purchased vintage Lego sets and Graphic Novel's from shops at a fraction of the price of their total value.

That aside this is a good joke, however having the whole forum changed to a letterbox one kinda ruined it. Finding out now, 3 days later, that it isn't real makes me go 'meh'.

It was definitely a well-planned practical joke. Admittedly, I was too interested in the fact that it was such an awesome buy, to even remotely consider it had anything to do with April Fool's!
