Windows 7 Movie Maker Empty Windows 7 Movie Maker

    Post  boosted6 Wed Sep 28, 2011 10:06 am

I've never edited anything before, and today i'm trying to edit my range test from yesterday.

I hit the trim button, and its just not cutting out the bits i want.

Anyone used Windows7 movie maker before?

Once i get Sony Vegas 11 i'll be right, but youtubes editing drove me bonkers, so i thought i'd try movie maker...but it has been really frustrating to see the same clips popping up when they should have been deleted.

Any of you guys or girls have any helpful hints? I left my camera on for around 15mins, so i really need to chop out a lot of crap. I even had a person run right past me when i was about to shoot....damn it was tempting to go for a head shot....

Think i might just do another one if i cant work this out....2 hours wasted..such a noob lol.

Movie Maker's good, if you're not expecting top quality stuff. It's simple enough without losing your mind.

Try Videopad. It's a free one. Very user friendly. It's the one I'm currently using until I get sony vegas or final cut express.

2120-My mind has just flown the coop! I've just turned it off. The trim function is very stupid, i managed to have a nice opening caption, but when i hit 177ft, i swore quite loudly and thought i have to edit that out, but its cutting out more than i want. At least with this footage you see me shooting the distance, but i think i'll just wait till i get vegas.

Trimming from the back seems to work, but trimming from the start is doing my head in.
Will try again tomorrow, if not, i'll just have 3-4mins of it...
