This is a commission piece I did for a cosplay customer. I took a Maverick and upholstered it in purple and white tiger print polyester fleece and then gave it gold accents. The gold is done by priming the parts in silver acrylic and then 4-5 coats of gold coloured nail polish. To my knowledge, this is a first.

Hope you like it and yes, it's still fully functional. Besides the cosmetic stuff, the mods are:
    - AR removal
    - penny mod (done with seven 5c coins)
    - full barrel drop

Tarzan's Grip general purpose adhesive. It's thick so it won't soak through to the top layer of fabric and make is hard like super glue will, you'll need to prep the surface of the plastic though, just give it a sand then a wash in warm water. Apply thinly because you don't want lumps of dry glue under the fabric, and it'll set quickly too, so you'll need to be hasty but careful. The hardest part was making sure there were no wrinkles in the fleece.
