Oznerf - For anyone who wants general info on nerf in Aus

Um, +1 for initiative, however if you want Hasbro onside, there is no short answer, the answer is NO. No exceptions. The Has will not take kindly to this confused statement. You're saying no, unless you no what you're doing. You then go on to supply the link to engage in modding activities.

1. You have exposed AN to litigation by linking to FSA. Admin/moderators should not be engaged in promoting modding on ANY forums, purely as protection from litigation in the 1 in a million chance some idiot screws the pooch. The newspapers are full of stories of morons winning huge compo claims all the time. In the case of AN, I would refrain from encouraging modding full stop.

2. Hasbro will not be interested in supporting a site that openly supports modding, which is what your "Nah, but yeah" statement implies.
A better answer would be...

"NO. Your blasters instructions clearly state"Do not modify darts or dart blasters", and in the case of larger Nerf guns this information is printed on the actual blaster. This is for your safety and others. AN does not condone ignoring the manufacturers express wishes. There are plenty of sites on the intermajig that explain how to ignore this warning, this site is not one of them. Some posts on our forums may provide links to such sites, AN is not responsible for the views expressed by members, nor the resulting actions of following links or advice posted in these forums. If you chose to ignore these warnings, please use common sense, and consider the consequences of your actions."

If you really want to be taken seriously, and you are off to good start, think about it.

I had a good long hard think about it, but I want AN to be used as an introduction to nerf guns, not a site that Hasbro can just use for free advertising. Essentially, I want to convert people who buy nerf guns from absolute noobs to modding noobs, and I absolutely have to mention modding and link to FSA. We can't send people to FSA directly but I'm sure as shit not going to sweep modding under the rug either. If people have to dig through the forums, looking through post after post to find FSA, then AN will have failed in its duty.

Even if I don't get Hasbro's stamp of approval, I'd rather have the website this way than to have Hasbro's help at all. Nerfhaven, I've been told, is kept in the loop by Hasbro, so I don't see why this one can't be too. If Hasbro tells me I have to change X and Y so they can endorse me, and I don't find the changes too bad, I'll consider it, but only after Hasbro has looked at it first. I'm not bending over backwards for them, I'm bending over backwards for US, the Australian nerf community.

I think that, if you made it look good (eg. someone who actually knows how to properly photoshop redid it), then yes, Warriewoodbros' logo would be PERFECT.

I probably should mention that it needs to be the same shape as the current one.

It's called Paint.net Exactly like photo shop, But for free I got it from a PC Power-play magazine. I think you can get it on the net for free.
