MM with TripleShot turret Empty MM with TripleShot turret

Post  gooni Mon Oct 04, 2010 3:17 am

The MM has been around here for a few weeks without being touched, so i opened it hup then had a look in the parts tub. And here it is in all of it's ruffness (would prob fit inti the WIP basket)
    MM with TripleShot turret Dscn2714

I grabbed my TripleShot turret, some 16mm alu tube, a bit of 20mm PVC,a 20 mm coupler, a bit of 20mm U-PVC, some e-tape and hot glue.
I cut a piece of 20mmpvc ot go over the rotation mech and glued it on.Then cut out a space for the mech to fit into the MM shell.

I then glued and taped the turret to the length of 20mm U-PVC and drilled out the holes in the back of the turret for rear loading, and then glues the barrels in place.

So, this is not a full write-up as i didnt photo enough steps but ou can get the idea i hope.

I am calling this a WIP because i am still to get a good seal with the barrel and turret. When I do work that out she might be a great piece of fun for future wars.

    Cheers

An update, the seal is not as bad as i thought. It is the MM that is the fail link in this chain of ghetto goodness. If I am to get it to work with the MM I will have to make a new trigger mech( something like AJ's mega raiders) and do to the pump as Roger did. The barrel and turret works well on both the titam and the BBUMB, altho the barrels in the turret are only 15cm long from a few indoor shots i'd guess it can hit 80ft+ from the BBUMB.

I think it looks better on my BBUMB

Have you considered making a hopper clip instead? That way you only have to pump and fire, you don't have to manually rotate a mechanism, and you'll get good seal.

If you spend some time on the seal you can get better ranges with a turret. Lengthening the barrels and making it rear loading will make it great.

I think it's more trouble then it's worth - a good hopper clip will lose you less than 5ft in range vs. singled, and you don't have to manually rotate the turret.

I found my seal to be not that bad at all(could be better). I am about 99.999999% certain that it is just a fail MM, or the lack of a good trigger set up for said MM.The barrel length will be made longer once i get to bunnings. It is rear loading, and on the BBUMB it works well (lol @ real loading bbumb, yas i can be a bit juvenile some times)

Range was never the goal here realy. It was more of a lets see if this can work moment. I've never liked the look of hopper clips, also the fact the having a lenght of pvc poking out at 45° is not very suited to the way i war. I have thought about an RSCB for one of my BBUMB, but then still is the look of it and trying to enclose it.

Ah yeah. Is your MM leaking at all? My first one had a leak in its tank, gobbing superglue on and giving it plenty of time and it magically fixed. A mate's had its valve permantly open so pumping dumped air straight out but after taking it apart and pulling on the release valve manually it got back in position properly.
