Has your plunger rod broken on you?

Well, here is a guide that'll show you how to fix it.

In this tutorial I've used a Zulu x-shot stealth plunger rod but the principle will be the same on most plunger rods.

    Your going to need:

    • Tarzan's grip multi-purpose glue (Or epoxy of your choice)

    • Epoxy putty

    • A threaded rod (Bunnings)

    • *optional* Heat source

First your going to need to cut your rod down to size, this will depend on the size of the plunger rod.

Glue it in place and allow to completely dry.

When it's dry grab your epoxy putty and mix it well.

Be sure to squeeze it into all the gaps.

Allow to dry completely for full strength.

For the final part I melted the plastic just a little bit so that the crack was sealed. You might want your parents to help you with this.

Sand it down so that it's smooth and your ready to go.

This method can be altered to suit different circumstances and different plunger rods such as using fibre glass for really bad breaks or replacing the threaded rod for a nail of two when repairing small plunger rods.

I hope you found this guide useful and remember to all ways reinforce parts before they break.

    Good Writeup!

But one thing.. DON'T use Tarzan's grip as it WILL eat away at plastics. (Well, did for Gooni's multiple BBUMB tanks)

Also, adding too much putty and then sanding it down usually makes it look neater.

    Other than that... Good Job!

I have done some testing with Tarzan's grip since you posted. It did eat away yellow Nerf plastic but for some reason not the plastic in the x-shot.

Thanks for pointing that out, sure saved me some trouble down the track!

Speaking of me, it looks like the X-shot is made of poor stuff. as my stealth shot's rod broke in the same place, and that was with the stock spring in it and only the AR removed.

It's a pitty since the Stealth shot was there best gun. (Coolest is different to best)

I'm looking at getting a Thundershot since Inf0rm3r thinks you could push it to 70ft, I'd be happy with 50ft though.
