Here's one option for the grip.

This is a non slip stripe used on stairs.

It is very sticky and as grippy as hell.

It caught my eye as the colours work with nerf colours.

On the downside, the sand look very white, but would probably rub off a bit with use.

It is supposed to be extremely hard wearing.

Another option would be the black urethane we use as a top layer on our buffers.

Hey, I have some of that anti-slip tape here at home. It is very gritty, and doesn't feel real nice on the skin.

The urethane would be a pretty good option though, definitely something I'd be interested in.

I'll probably just go with 30cm of the black urethane tape supplied in the kit, as then buyers can just use it how they like.

Personally, I wouldn't bother on my own as I've had absolutely no problem with the ally being slippery in any way whatsoever, but I want to include it for people who are worried about that.

It may be gritty, but this tape gives unbelievable grip.

I was more worried about staining it with sweaty/dirty hands when I first saw it.

Grip isn't my concern, it's more the occassional sharp edge that appears from repeated use, or getting hot from being left in the sun. Will probably help cut-down on glare as well.

Definitely no sharp edges, but it IS fairly shiny for sure.

Ally paints well though, even better with a bit of etch primer.

Sorry mate, that may have been misleading for other people interested in your product.
Obviously, the finish on any of your items is impeccable, I can definitely attest to that. I was thinking more of nicks and chips creating sharp edges, from wear and tear by user.

You want to etch mine before sending it once you get stock in!! haha

Just waiting for some #@%&heads to send my bolts, which are the last thing I am waiting for.

The cocking pin/boltsled hole is a very non standard size it seems, and I didn't want the threaded part of the bolt touching the bracket, only the shoulder/shank.

I really didn't want to have to drill the boltsled hole out, so have secured an imperial size that should go in a suitable shank length.

Once they're in, I will have just a couple ready to go.

I wouldn't worry about nicks, scratches, etc as these things are massively over engineered.

Even if you throw your long shot in your ute box with kango hammers, stillsons, etc you'll be much more likely to cut yourself on broken plastic.

    OK,

So I've got my prototype together, and it works very well.

It slides on nylon bushes, and is smooth as and very good to use.

Longshot Pump Action bracket - Page 2 Dscn1221

Longshot Pump Action bracket - Page 2 Dscn1222

Longshot Pump Action bracket - Page 2 Dscn1225

Longshot Pump Action bracket - Page 2 Dscn1226

Longshot Pump Action bracket - Page 2 Dscn1310

With the nyloc nuts and bushes in place, it doesn't rattle at all, and is much stronger than the blaster itself.

I took it out on our block this afternoon, and what struck me most was the improvement in usability, as you can reload for follow up shots while still aiming.

It is fine with 18 shot clips or drums, but the 35 shot drum would be an issue unless you were left handed.

If I produce a run of them, they will come with all hardware for fitting, and we will do a video demonstrating how to fit it and set it up (it's not that complicated).

And yes, I will include some good polyurethane adhesive tape for enhanced grip.

At 30-35 bucks, it won't be for everyone.

But for me, it makes the longshot the blaster nerf should have made.

I never use one in our wars at home (I always use my stampede), as the reloading was just a pain in the arse, but now it's got some appeal.

I'm going to run one sheet worth of these and see how they go.

I've got a little helmet cam coming, so I might post a video of it in action when it arrives.

    Thanks mate,

I do try to keep it real, as a lot of modders are young and short on cash.

Just a guesstimate at this stage, I'll do my best.

I don't mean to hijack your thread but to answer all those concerns about the grip of the LS grip that Oznerfnerd is making...

This is a longshot grip that I made (in bulk) for the local nerfers here in my country:
Longshot Pump Action bracket - Page 2 IMG_5249-4

And it works fine. I have had zero complaints with regards to gripping issues, and there are members who use a 22kg load spring combo with this and still no complaints.

However, if you do feel like it's giving you a little problem, you can always do this:
Longshot Pump Action bracket - Page 2 Photo%20Dec%2023,%2010%2011%2031%20PM

It was so well-received that I went ahead and made a second batch, this time, with aluminium arms welded onto the grip itself so I have virtually zero screws on the grip. Here's a demo vid I shot for those that placed their orders with me, and this is basically the completed grip, without the finishing touches and polishing.

In my video, I'm using a 14kg load spring.

After all that, what I'm trying to say is:

Take a look at my shotgun grip shape, which is a simple rectangle, and compare it to Oznerfnerd's beautifully shaped grip. Over here we have no problems gripping that big rectangular piece... so I highly doubt that any of you will have a problem gripping the 45 degree bended shape that is way more ergonomic.

I do have a suggestion though... Oznerfnerd, why don't you try shaping one that does not require you to drill a screw / post at the front of the blaster?
My shotgun grip basically follows SGNerf's polycarb grip design, and it uses the Longshot's "Bi-Pod Holder Area" as a guide.

    Hi all,

The laser cutter has sent me an invoice today, and we'll pay tonight.

I have a thin polyurethane tape coming as well, even though grip issues are really unwarranted (thank you psyk), we'll supply a length of it with the bracket so you can cut it into patterns or do your own thing with it.

Bolts and bushes are already here.

I just need to get them delivered, and bent.

I'll probably do an installation video to add to the listing and we're on.

Absolute 2 weeks at the outside, max.

I'll have about 25, and will give you guys a days notice on this forum before I list them.

They are a good thing, I'm quite happy with them.

Mate, when it all gets here I'll add it all up and divide the total number of units into the cost and work it out from there.

It will be all fair and good.

I'll give prior notice before listing.

Like I said, I didn't post here to hijack Oznerfnerd's thread.

If you can get it from him since you're in Australia, go for it. It'll be waaaaaaaaaay cheaper. Ask Oxymoron... he knows roughly how much shipping would work up to be for shipment from Singapore over to Australia. He's seen my official receipt and invoice for shipments haha

I'll only put some of mine up for sale AFTER Oznerfnerd does his round. It's only fair this way.

I just wanted to tell you guys that you can be totally confident in the grip design

Thanks for that info psyk, but I'm happy that OzNerfNerd will be supplying tape for added grip.

With the more ergonomic shape, I believe the tape will be extremely handy, as opposed to being able to gain a better grip on two right-angled bends.

Looking forward to test-running this unit.

The ally brackets are in town at the courier depot.

I will pick them up AM, and drop them to the sheetmetal place for bending.

All going well, I'll list them this week/weekend.

Question : Because of how the bracket is shaped, do you think it's possible to put a front gun under that ? I'm talking without the front gun pump thing, it's mostly for aesthetics.
