The simplest solution seems to be to discard the trigger lock and just cycle rounds with caution. Acceptable?

This is most likely to do with your plunger padding. If you have, it's probably to thick 90% sure.

Yeah, I reckon Brad banned me. Probably sooked because I had a problem with them breaking the rules. Been gone for probably a month, though.

Is there a cheap adhesive, that has more strength than epoxy (putty or liquid) because I'm trying to add a handle on the side of the recon to act as a bolt and I epoxied my handle, hot glued around it and added putty but after like 3 clips it snapped off, I'm currently adding a new layer of epoxy, but back to the main question.

    Super glue.

Depends on what you're gluing together. I tried out this 'plastics glue' stuff, it looks like super glue + a primer for plastic surfaces. But I've been using it on PVC as well, and it works pretty well.

But I don't know why 72 hour cure epoxy putty wouldn't work. The only time I ever broke something that had a 3 day araldite-strength cure was when I dropped it from about 2 meters.

Araldite doesn't bond certain plastics together very well at all. It's on the instructions card.

I'm glad people like you read instructions, so that people like I can learn from you

Just wondering, those peeps with TS', what's the optimum spring combination in your opinion? Currently I have a SS spring and a LS spring. I'm thinking perhaps I can eke out a few more meters (or velocity with my darts) with another set-up

That is already a good combination but i'd say that you add the stock TS spring onto that because it's actually better than the longshot spring.

I'd go with a Longshot, which is $45 at the moment at K-mart, and if you have a Raider, use the drum. It's personal preference really

He said MUST and i'd go with an AT because or a decent range, and modded all up for under $40 shoots pretty great.

You could try welding it together with a soldering iron (takes a bit of practice), and then cover the welded join with JB Weld or 72-hr Araldite.

Just remember, epoxy putty has very little structual strength. It's mainly just for cosmetic work.

Don't Single a Nerf Longshot just buy a brass breech for clunk07 for $32.00 and buy a SS spring from Silent Scope for $12.50.

If you buy Brass Breech and SS spring you will be able to get over 100" ft easy and you still be able to use Nerf clips.

If so, stick to your Alpha Trooper. Its compact size and faster ROF with slam-fire is more suitable than a Longshot.

Just brass-breech it then, and use the stock spring. You should get ranges around 60ft, and you won't have to reinforce the boltsled either.

    Cheers,

Really? You can increase the range from stock 25ft to 60ft in flat angle just from brass breech alone? I doubt even with AR removed you can get 60ft from stock spring. You'll definitely need stronger spring. Of course with BT spring or SS spring, you can get even longer range.

Yeh, from what I've been told it's definitely possible.

Have never tested it myself, as it's way too underpowered for any of my builds.

But, it does hold a bit of credit. Improved plunger seal, and air-tight brass breech. Sure, velocity may not be extravagant, but I think the range is attainable.

The other option would be a SSSpring, and leave the stock spring out. Probably still a bit OP for indoor's, but you could leave it with the stock plunger seal... that's sure to decrease range significantly.

    Cheers,

I see, whoever told you that must be talking about firing at 30-45 degree angle. No way you can increase the range by 140% just by improving the air seal alone, unless the stock Longshot air seal is so crap in the first place.

Or to save you the hassle of doing the breach, you could just do basic mods and chuck in an SSspring which can get 60ft w/o brass breech.

I really doubt it, with a stock spring. My friend who got disinterested in Nerf gave me his LS, and to make easy money I sold off some of the parts, leaving me with just enough to single it. A stock spring barely has enough power to get out of 30 feet. And even if it was brass-breeched, there'd be too much friction in the barrel, given the limited power coming out of the LS spring. But that's just my novice physics.

Post  dvdlesher Sun Aug 07, 2011 6:29 am

Hey guys, I'm pretty new with NERF, hence I ask this question:

Which one do you guys usually use for HvZ and nerf wars, the suction dart or the standard streamline?
(Also, does it also affect the gun it is used for? Because I'm thinking of getting Maverick + Nitefinder... There's no restriction to use 2 guns at once, right?)

Again, if I sound like a noob here, please bear in mind that I am a noob thanks!

Just an update to help you with your LS spring stories, LS springs are only 2.6kg compared to others like the SSspring which is 14+kg

Are you planning to mod the Nitefinder? The nitefinder can't shoot streamlines if you haven't modded it.
The maverick can fire streamlines if it is un modded.
Also, Streamline darts usually shoot further than the suction cupped ones, as they are more streamlined and aerodynamic, hence the name
    Hope this helps

This shoulb be in the Question Thread but i'd suggest modded streamlines with a hotglue tip otherwise use suction cups because of the inacuracy of the stock streamlines.

Using hot glue tipped streamlines isn't always the best option in stock blasters, because they can be too heavy and effect the range negatively.
A simple overhaul gives it a very nice positive range, compared to a range with a stock dart. It also gives more accuracy.

Using hot glue tipped streamlines isn't always the best option in stock blasters, because they can be too heavy and effect the range negatively.
A simple overhaul gives it a very nice positive range, compared to a range with a stock dart. It also gives more accuracy.[/quote]

Hot glue doesn't weigh much, considering blue foam stingers with hotglue are the best for stock blasters and the hotglue is unweighted in the streamline tips anyway.

So compare spending $40 on brass breeching a Longshot to achieve 40ft range to spending $15 on e.g. SS spring to achieve 60ft range, I know which one I'm going to choose. In addtion, swaping spring is much easier than installing the brass breech.

As a beginner, should I get nitefinder, or maverick, or both (and maybe even dual wield)?
