Maverick's catch spring is stronger. Which is why I did the Nite-Mav integration with C-836 spring and Maverick's catch spring. Oh yeah, dvdlesher, becase you are a beginner, don't attempt the Nite-Mav integration yet, it's quite a pain-in-the-ass.

Using hot glue tipped streamlines isn't always the best option in stock blasters, because they can be too heavy and effect the range negatively.
A simple overhaul gives it a very nice positive range, compared to a range with a stock dart. It also gives more accuracy.
Hot glue doesn't weigh much, considering blue foam stingers with hotglue are the best for stock blasters and the hotglue is unweighted in the streamline tips anyway.

    -James
When I use them in a stock longshot, the ranges are less than a normal streamline.
    Depends what blaster, I suppose.

Nope, tell him he's a bullshit artist. Unless he's shooting it from the top of a building, or he's done a complete internals replacement. So one way or another he's telling you a furphy.

That's really weird, especially in a longshot it should be much better. I take it by experiance.

You're not going to break your boltsled by doing a brass breech though, are you...
Conferring with some more senior modder's, the approx range is 18m, which is close enough to 60 ft...

    Anyway, horse's for course's...

Alot of people forget about the little things, or are too lazy. I opened my LS 12 times before I achieved the optimum plunger seal - alot of modder's wouldn't have the patience/attention to detail to deal with this.

Sure, anyone can replace a spring, but why not challenge yourself and do the brass breech. You could make a brass breech for under $25 in material. Yes, I sell them for $32, but my labour has to be factored in.

Hey, I think maybe you need to research a little bit more.

At the end of the day, you're much better off making/buying after-market darts. It doesn't matter if you use fbr/blue foam and sili/snap-caps, you're going to have much better darts than the stock Nerf darts.

Hot-gluing the tips on streamline's is a waste of time, when you compare the time wasted doing the task, as opposed to making your own.

    Has anyone made a TitMav?

Because I was bored and started to build one but I am stumped as to how to attatch the air release pin on the Titan tank to the Mav trigger...?

EDIT: Don't worry, after another hour or so of searching for and testing different materials I finally did it.

If it is too long cut it down, if it's too small to fit on the nub on top of the catch then you can
trim the nub down with a knife.

Just have a search in the Trading thread.

inf0rm3r sells blue foam pre-cuts, and blue foam pre-made darts.

KingCam sells fbr and blue foam pre-made darts/stefans.

    Toobz sells fbr stefans.

There could be other member's who offer dart service's, but that's all I can remember off the top of my head.

Try cutting it off at b, and if it doesn't quite fit then go down to a.

Also has anyone used the reinforced cutting wheel to cut brass? Did it work well?

It works but it takes forever and builds too much friction and if you don't keep stopping and starting to let it cool, it will snap. I suggest a metal cutting disk.

    Forgive my horrible "photoshop/mspaint" skills.

But would that work? move the handle there to make priming it a bulk load easier?

EDIT just noticed I made that over complicated, not need to rotate the front part, or move the bottom tube thing up

I agree with Clunk but you might want to use vinyl tubing. They way you have designed it, the rigid tube leading to the tank will interfere with the trigger wire.

    Cheers,

There are many things that can have an effect on this issue. You may have to re-glue your rotation mech. If you have glued it, you may have misaligned it by just a little bit. The other issue could be that the rotation bar is not being pushed all the way forward completing the rotation. or it could be that your seal is too tight.

At my targets most of the guns left were recons, longstrikes and stampedes. There were only about 6 or so double nite finder packs left.

Ya but two is good because you can use one o-ring and put in the other and double up springs.

If you're into modding, it's probably best to have to of each blasters if you have no choice. Always have a back up as a spare.

    New Question:

Just finished my 1st brass breech. seals are great everything lines up. i did a test shot with a dart in the barrel holding it all in my hands before putting it in the gun and i got some good power. when i put it all in the gun, still lines up perfect if i block the barrel seal is still good. BUT! I put a dart in for the first test shot and it went about... 5m... My heart sank. All this work and i have ballsed it. I have checked everything out and it looks fine... but not throwing darts anything like i thought it should.

Spring setup is stock + c832. Will be investing in the SSSpring soon but was eager to test fire this bad boy. Was hoping the good ole bunnings spring had enough power.

Hoping someone else has had this problem and can help me out

There could be a few problems with the breech:

First, you should still get better ranges than that with the stock spring. How's the plunger seal?

Secondly, using streamline's is only going to add to your problems. Going to be fairly difficult to gauge range with the dart's fish-tailing all over the place.

    Cheers,
