Hey guys. Just getting into the nerf thing. Bought a few, messing around with the guts of them. Wouldn't mind getting into a war once I've finished molding and painting them.

What's up. South East Queensland being Brisbane area?
If you're going to paint your guns and want to bring them to a war you should try to avoid painting any part of the gun that's orange or using any dark or camo or black painting. This is just to avoid a misunderstanding to the public's eye.

Haha cheers man. Yeah I live in Ipswich actually. As for paint I'll be doing some all dark, painted like a mix between a warhammer chaos weapon and something the hellghast would use. Others I'll keep the orange parts orange, or another bright color that matches the gun and paint lol.

Oh really. Lots of Ipswichers suddenly arising I see. I'd like to see some of the paintjobs, but it's probably better to have one for 'hobby' and one for 'wars' if you know what I'm getting at heh heh. To Supanova with those guns!

Re: Ahoy from SOUTH EAST QLD
Nah the fully painted ones will be for indoor wars I organize with friends, or outdoor ones at a few of the scrublands around. The ones left bright will be for other organized wars. Yeah I want to actually either but or make a suit of halo recon armor for next supanova and take my modded longstrike when it's done, possibly with a barricade done up like an smg from halo 3. What guns do you use?

Ah I know there's a lot of 'skin changes' for Nerf to Halo guns. The beauty of Nerf is that alot of their gun 'patterns' are futuristic. I actually alternate ALOT when I go to wars.
First one was Quadshot and NF
Then I went to Big Blast Quadshot and NF
Longshot, Quadshot NF...
-skipping pass more wars-
Furyfire and NF
Now it's a stampede and NF (I don't even use the pistol LOL).

Re: Ahoy from SOUTH EAST QLD
How well did your Longshot perform? I bought one and took out the AR, but knocked out the entire innards of the tube, and now it has no power. I also stretched the spring very very slightly and put in a second O Ring. I'm not sure if i've stuffed the tube or not. If so, i might have to get a mate to fabricate me some brass ones, cause i have no clue where to get the tools to cut brass...
Other guns i have are the
Stampede
Vulcan (for modding and painting)
My girlfriend has
Barricade
Alpha Trooper

Welcome you mentioned your from Silkstone, I'm just around the corner in Bundamba Hope to see you at wars to, if you ever need a lift let me know.
You'll notice once you start going to wars, you use your more practical guns. I like run and gun so 90% of the time I'm walking around with a fury fire or a shotgun gripped longshot.
Maybe visiting a war before you paint your guns will be a good idea so you don't waste paint on something you won't use

Re: Ahoy from SOUTH EAST QLD
Any i paint and don't use will be used for hobby purposes, or just messing around with friends. I like to adopt either a sniper or assault strategy, and i own a stampede and longstrike, and they will be the first modded and painted, but eventually i will paint and possibly mod all of them, i eventually wanna have one of each, 2 of some, for wars i organise myself, or even if friends want to use them.
Bundamba aye, i used to be ovr there every day for TAFE haha.
I may come along to a war at some point, just with an unmodded gun, just to see what its like, and adopt mods accordingly.

Yes, the first war I went to I used an (almost) unmodded NF. Thats all, nothing else. It really gives you the small amount expierience to decide what mods and what strategy to use. And with 1 unmodded gun, you will still have fun, and you won't lose straight away, which surprised me

Re: Ahoy from SOUTH EAST QLD
I've used a stock fury fire at a war before and still done some good damage, obviously it's more difficult hitting someone with a full strength LS etc but there are ways to do it!
Let me know if you have wars, I'll be happy to attend we've also got the biggest supply of ammunition in the country I'll also let you know whenever I have small ones etc of my own and the main event in February which I'm planning!
