Whipped this up when i had 50M of foam to cut

Just cut a groove using a hacksaw which was wide enough for my Stanley knife.
The distance from the end to the cut is how long the darts are.

Just a tip. Cut a piece of plastic and glue it onto the bottom. It stops the razor from cutting the metal and in turn blunting the blade.

    Other than that, Good Job!

I actually made one of these out of the staple tray out of a stapler. Used a Dremel to cut a slot. Works perfectly, fits foam like, perfectly. I just use the end that isn't open, put the foam against it and slice, take the blank out and repeat.
I don't know that all staplers have the same size tray, so check before you go ripping it apart.

Edit: yeah, Brad's got it, blade gets blunt very fast without something there.

I got plenty of blades and the time and effort to cut a bit of plastic that small and thin would be annoying
Another option if there was lots of foam to cut would be to use a longer piece of aluminum and cut more slots.

With the stapler idea you should put a blade in the stapler so it cuts just by pressing the stapler

That would most probably pinch and squash the foam, more than cut it. Not exactly desirable - but it would be possible with some dedicated engineering. Hell, Servulus could probably automate it!!

Yeah, was just going to say, I tend to slice them, not really just push down. It could work if you used heat like Informer, somehow? Good idea, man. I fully disassembled the stapler to do it, though.

I do a forward then backward motion while applying minuscule amounts of downward force to the blade.
    Works like a charm.

What kind of foam is that? I've never seen foam like that be used for darts here in the US.

It's because the US are in the stone age. These are custom made foam created by the username inf0rm3r. He has actually sold about 1-2km over in the US and about a few extra km in Singapore. They're diametre is approx. stock streamline diametre. It is approximately 12.9mm in diametre (a little over 1/2"). It's the perfect fit for any stock blaster. You don't need to mod it take 13mm FBR and what not anymore :).

How do they compare to Nerf foam? Are they less prone to deforming? Also, do you think he would still ship some to the US?

There'll be a minimal order of I don't know. You'll have to contact him. Although, his minimal order to people around Australia is 25metres. I think anyway.

    http://www.oznerf.com/t2991-inf0rm3r-s-ordering-system-blue-pink-foam-silicone-snap-tips-petg

That's his sales thread. They're 10% denser than Nerf Foam. if you step on them and it bends, you can reshape it pretty easily as if it's new. The only time it'll deform is when say you left a stampede sitting on the foam for a bit. That happens with most foam anyway lol.

    It's a perfect fit for Informer's petg.

I've had issues with trying to use it in petg sourced from other places (when I was a young padawan, and didn't have access to OzNerf, I was actually stupid enough to purchase gear from ModMan...)

The PETG I use is thickwall standard, designed for my Foam.

Other PETG will not match my dimensions as there is no standard sizing set for PETG tubing.

    @ interflop

It depends on the quantity shipping to you guys is expensive. If you can group order I can drop ship both tips and foam direct from my supplier which will save you a lot and discount on the standard prices to. It actually ends up cheaper than buying rubbish FBR. This is how I get it to the guys in Singapore otherwise shipping kills the cost.

If you want to know more send me an email.

You can sample it for you like. I can send 500 grams to you for $15.00AU.
