    100' tape measure - $10 Empty 100' tape measure - $10

Post  Unknown Wed Jun 01, 2011 11:22 am

So I was at Bunnings today on the hunt for springs when I came across this tape measure. 100' for only $10 compared to the $40 ones I've seen else where.

I've never owned a tape measure before so I'm not sure how it compares to other brands but it does the job and looks nifty.

There's not a lot to say about it, it is just a tape measure...

    Here's a picture.

Oh wow........ I've been wanting to buy one of these beauty's... but the price is to much for a tape measure. Was this on clearance or sale? And Sontax in my opinion is a god brand.

It wasn't a clearance, but normal sale price.

$10 is too much for a tape measure? I think not, all the others were in the $40's.

Good to know it's a quality brand.

    I certainly thought so.

I've always wanted one but didn't want to spend much so I'm glad I found it.

Thanks Unknown, I've told a few people about this tape for $10, with not too many people believing me.

@Toobz - mate, if you think Sontax is a good brand, you need to get out more...

For our Nerfing purposes though, it's a decent enough item, and the price is right.

For the Adelaidians Mitre 10 at Glynde has 50M Tape measures for $10. High quality too. If you don't already shop there, DO! It really is the BEST hardware shop in Adelaide.

    I actually had misread.
I had erroneously comprehended that it was 100 metres, instead of the actual 100 feet.

Not a bad find. I got a 50m tape (about 150') for $10 on clearance.

The feet and meter debate continues... I have no idea what a 100' measure would be needed for other than Nerf. But $10 is cheap enough anyway. Now are those $40 ones overpriced or overpriced?

The $40 versions are designed for "real world" use. As in surveying, construction etc. The tape material is of a higher quality, as is the reel mechanism.

The unit I have for real world applications cost me $120 for a 50m tape.

    Cheers,

You're a boy, you'll learn a bit as you get older. The more expensive tapes aren't over-priced, they're probably crap quality for $40 realistically.

These tapes weren't designed for people to measure how far a dart travels. They're designed to allow tradesmen/builders to perform their job.

You get what you pay for.

For my nerf uses I don't need high quality and paying any more than $30 would be a waste as it don't plan on becoming a builder at my age

I bought one of these today. Got the last one. The one i used last week wouldnt wind back up again so i gave it away.

Took the Octo out for a quick range test with the new $10 cheapie. Those darts i got from MakeItGo are fantastic.

160ft with a felt tipped dart.
