    Post  boosted6 Sun Jun 05, 2011 9:16 am

Thought i'd start a thread about peoples upcoming projects, current builds, etc.

If there is something top secret your working on, maybe we can have an insight, as to what it maybe?

I'm currently building a 5-barrel speed loader for a Man springed TS. I'll do a write-up on this soon. I'm just waiting for the 9/16 brass barrels. I copied this off Pearson from Canada. But as you can see, i did mine the other way around so the barrels are facing down, instead of up. The threaded rod once in will be great for added support. Once the brass is in, i attach the threaded rod to the blaster, and its finished.

The power of this justifys using brass. With the foam i'm getting, it will be getting great ranges.

I could have made another Octo with the Man Spring, but i wanted to do something different. At first it was going to be a single barrel.

    Nice job, Boost. (:
Few questions. What's the Man Sprig? Are there any other springs in with it?

I'm currently working on an R55L. Got the plunger head all sorted yesterday. Just have to build the trigger and catch. I have all the little nuts and bolts for the catch and trigger sorted, just need to have a look through my little spring tub when I get home and start work on the catch.

Also working on my PAS, although just little things like the seal and spring addition at the moment, can't afford the brass for the breech loading RSCB at the moment.

The 'Man Spring' is what MakeItGo has in one of his Octo-Shots.

I'm not sure of the rating, but its got some punch.

    May i present....the Man Spring.

    Ooohhhhh.. It's so pretty..

Would you be able to measure it for me, when you get a chance? Length and diameter. And wire diameter, roughly. Where can I buy one of these manly springs?

I'm not too keen on pulling her apart again just yet. Putting it together can be challenging. Send MIG a PM, he might know the dimensions. He sent me the Man Spring from Canada. Some place here should have one lying around..

I just fired a shot at my ghostface target with the Man springed TS. Split shot sinker blue foam dart went through the mouth, through the back of the box, bounced off the wall and came straight back at me. You can prime this spring all the way back, the power is just insane.

Yeah, I managed to bounce a split shot snap cap blue foam dart off a wall, the pantry, then hit myself in the head with it. Lucky I flinched, as I saw it coming, I guess.

It sounds like a spring I want! I'll send him a message, cheers.

If you decide on this spring, you MUST reinforce everything.
I thought i did enough from the start, but after you fire it afew times, pulling it apart again will reveal stress. Once addressed it will be fine. Great spring for a TS or the RFSG.

Agreed, I'm currently building a octo shot and putting the turret in with that new turret seal is a pain. It always seems to slip out, except for the
one time I managed to make it work lol :).

Why would your turret seal be falling out?

It should be glued on once you have the right fit.

If done right, you will have 100% air seal, yep, even on a turreted blaster.

I'm going to pick up one of those new Max Force snipers and firstly add a catch and trigger and then see about making it fir darts of the "spit wad " things suck

I'm also waiting on materials to build an R3L which I will be re-shelling into a Longstrike. Hopefully a Whiteout series one if I can justify buying anther LSTK

Sorry I didn't word it very well. The actual turret is falling out because the plunger to turret seal pushes on the turret, and then it slips out.

Your turret shouldnt be falling out? It should simply be in the groove. Have you follwed MIG's write-up on youtube?

Oxy, the R3L into a longstrike sounds great.
Max force sniper sounds awesome, i just googled it. Stock ranges of 100ft with the Shadow hawk.
    I want the Shadow Hawk.
Damn if it shoots 100ft....? Modders dream.

Would that be a blaster with a sight and an integration of some sort?

More than a 2 word reply would be nice Luke.

It's some thing from CoD. I think it's a shotgun attachment for your gun, or something.

Month long over haul of my LongShot that involves a heavy spring, 2mm aluminium, stainless steel rod, brass, 2.6mm steel, cold weld and epoxy putty.
By the time that is finished Fishpond may just have got my TripleShot to me so I can start on it.
Trying to get enough members of FraserCoast NERF in one spot at one time to organize a war.
One is intense, another is fustrating and another seems down right impossible. Guess which is which

    - Tweaking the rotation mech and re-barrelling the PETG on my Octoshot (the barrels got warped somehow, and the darts don't escape past halfway.)

    - Finishing my 4th commissioned Longshot (basic stuff, spring replacement, seal upgrade, reinforcement, PJ)

    - Doomsayer (awaiting the operating table, preparing it for the Sydney July war)

    - Wipeout pistol (still looking around for stuff to do with it)

    - Darts

You dont have to do much with the Wipeout. Apart from adding a coupler, and increasing plunger seal, theres not much more you can do....if you can find a spring.

Why you tweaking the mech on the Octo?

Oh sweet, thanks for the info.

Um, I'm not sure if my mech is working properly - is it supposed to be a bit uhh .. frigid ? (so to speak) It doesn't feel all the natural for me. Plus it doesn't align perfectly with the turret, it's off by a few mm. Or is it supposed to be like that ?

Nothing should be out of alignment.

Did you glue the rotation mech inside?

Sounds like the pin has been damaged, maybe you cut it when you were preparing/cutting the turret?

That would be the only way the turret could possibly be out of alignment i think. If its damaged, i'd grab another turret.

You could be right there. Because I followed MIG's video/write-up and was confused as to why it didn't turn out so great. It works fine and all, but perhaps I was expecting a bit more than I thought - I don't know.

Is there supposed to be like, a spring and a metal pin thing inside of the turret ? The grooves where the rotating bar goes into are fine, so I wouldn't think it's damaged. But if that's the case, I guess I'll either follow suit with you, and make a Pearson-esque turret thing, or just go with a QS.

I was going to do that sort of speed loader for my hand cannon. Nice mod.
I was also planning on making my own ghilli suit.

    Homemade Barrett (see my thread).
LS commission (reinforce boltsled, remove AR, pad plunger).
Stampede commission (battery pack, remove AR, bigger spring [11 or 9kg depending on what i can find], PETG breech).
BBUMB raider (There's a mod here and on nerfhaven somewhere, though i hope to be able to pump tank with 1 pump so i can link the pump to the breech).
PETG breech EVERYTHING (longshot, stampede, homemade, any other clip fed guns i get the chance to mod).

Right now I'm working on getting the Internals for the Lanard Rotator X-8 up. Unfortunately, my chihuahuas pounced on it before I got a picture for y'all so now I'm trying to build it up from scratch since no schematics exist yet. I'm close to done, but there's one catch-piece that I can't figure out where it goes... there's no slot for it anywhere in the gun, so.. we'll see.

Yeah there is a pin and spring in there. What happens is, if you dont glue the mech, it will turn itself everytime you prime it forward without actually turning the turret.
Throw the spring away which was attached to the slide bar which turns the turret. It should work really well. When i did mine, the only real problem i had was the catch, once sorted it hasnt failed. I've lost count how many rounds i've fired. Make sure you do the duo-tang folder also.

Throw the spring away which was attached to the slide bar which turns the turret. It should work really well. When i did mine, the only real problem i had was the catch, once sorted it hasnt failed. I've lost count how many rounds i've fired. Make sure you do the duo-tang folder also.

Oh, I knew I had forgotten something, hopefully that folder will help increase the seal. Thanks for the advice. Hopefully playing around with it more will help fix it. Or at the least make it function more efficiently.
