About a decade ago, I used to play the Texas Instruments...

I play the drums, I've been playing for about a year and a half, I get lessons once a week and have formed a band with a few mates and im also the drummer for the glee band at school.

I play guitar, mainly electric but I also play acoustic when I'm not in the mood for heavy stuff.
My pride and joy is my Ibanez RG Prestige, has heaps of tone and sounds epic through my Peavey XXX Head and Randall quad box!

I run the music team at church, which typically entails vocals and acoustic rhythm, but sometimes lead if the setlist is right (YEE HAW). My acoustic is an ibanez artwood series ($650ish) which i'm actually pretty ashamed of, but the preamp signal is brilliant when paired with the right strings.
If i'm temping with another band or backing visiting musos I'll usually opt to play lead, since i tend to have more fun with that. My usual lead setup is my RG into my peavey prowler (US made tube amp, a steal from cashies for $300) via satchurator (a steal from ebay at $90) and boss DD-7. Compression, TS808, reverb, volume and crybaby come into the mix when i'm not on vocals.
End of financial year means i'm looking at trading almost all my pedals and the RG for a tele, since discovering recently that the prowler delivers an unbelievable creamy tube drive when i crank the 'clean' channel. So that'll then kick off a totally different tone and playing style more similar to mayer than say, lukather. So that's exciting.
Obligatory air instrument is drum kit. It helps alot, actually, since the regular drummer is superfob korean.

I'm a percussionist. I play kit and sometimes timps. I can't read tuned music so none of that. I play in my school's Orchestra, Symphonic Wind Band, and Big Band. I also have a bit of a band thing going on with a few mates, just getting off the ground.
In other news, I have it on good authority that the triangle is the sexiest instrument ever!

Also, sticking to one style at a time can help, due to the similar tempos/ beat rythms.

DJing is a fine art. I'm not talking about that scratching bullshit either I'm talking about the simple ability to get a whole hours(or maybe more) worth of music to flow nicely with appropriate rises and falls.
Keep at it. If you like it as something more then just a hobby there's good money in it and there are so few good DJs around. Most of them just play what ever is popular with a bassline. Rarely do you go to a (standard) club and hear a good music flow.
