Warning: big ass pictures
Fact: reverse-plunger blasters are horrible, relative to direct-plunger systems. But the blasters with ideal RoF are too often reverse-plungers, sending us into a dilemma. But I have found solutions to give Mavericks (Mav) and Furyfires (FF) respectable range!
I found this in KMart. It had always intrigued me because it was so damn cheap. No doubt it was gonna be crap. And it was, the darts had pretty hard plastic tips and the barrel was way too short and too loose.
But inside was quite interesting, it seemed like my 3 bucks wasn't being put to waste!
(Don't know what the hell I'm doing with my hand)
See that spring? That's what you're gonna use in your Mav and FF.
Just a few facts on the spring, it's about 7.7 cm in length, 1.5cm outer diameter and has about 14 coils. It's just slightly smaller than the LS front gun spring, but it's a bit harder to completely compress.

You may have to do a little bit of cutting down on that cross bit thingy behind the plunger. Then it should neatly insert inside the stock FF/Mav spring. I did a Double Shot replacement, that seemed to work well with the FF as well. In the same photo we see why it could not work with a spectre, or with clip reverse-plunger blasters.
Anyway, unlike the penny mod, which I believe doesn't really have a real benefit, this is getting my Mav and FF ranges of up to 45 feet. So with a Kool Zums or an LSFG spring, you'll make something decent out of these blasters.
