How did you get into Nerf?

I got into Nerf, by seeing a Nerf Recon in a bigw catalouge in 2009 and thinking it looked cool. So I bought it.

I always wanted a Nerf blaster since I was a kid, but my parents didn't think girls should play with boys toys so I missed out on a lot of cool stuff. This year my interest was renewed when I saw the new Whiteout series coming out, and started my collection(obsession) with a Whiteout Maverick. Unfortunately the local stores have sold out of all other Whiteout gear except the Deploy, I was very lucky to get one of the last Mavericks because when I returned to get myself a second one they were all gone, so I got myself a Gear Up Maverick instead, which still looks pretty nice and came with more darts and a valuable extra Vortex disc. I now have a few more Nerf blasters as well as a couple of blasters from other brands which I particularly liked.

I was never a fan of primary coloured blasters, they look too much like baby's toys to me so I am trying not to get any yellow or blue Nerf blasters, although I may on occasion have to if the one I like doesn't come in another colour.

one of my mates picked up a recon and a raider one day, and we screwed around swapping stocks and stuff and having shoot-outs, and I thought they were the coolest thing ever invented, then a few months later a different mat of mine brought around like 6 of them and we had a mini-war, and over the weekend I bought nitefinder, and while looking up how to make it more powerful i found a whole world of nerf existed, so over the last couple of years I've been collecting and modding, started my own blog in march (thought I might as well share my nerf adventures with the world) and my modding and collecting skills have been slowly getting better and better.

I bought a nitefinder. That's how it all began.

Went looking for homemade air rifles after mucking around with a friends slug gun about 5 years ago on the internet...stumbled onto nerfhavens homemade section. Only been seriously into modding and collecting for just over a year after finding Oznerf.

Messed about one day with a friends clear mavs and clear vulcan. After a 3Hr war I had to own something! 7 guns later!....

Got a nf for christmas. Forgot about it. 3 months later my friend got a raider. Bang. Back into nerf


Oh Yeah

I went over to my friends house, and he had a Recon.
And when I got back home, I convinced my mum to get me one.

My brothers and I received a Tommy 20 each a couple of years ago, a couple of months later I picked up a nightfinder (can't remember why). And while searching the Internet for 'the best gun', I stumbled upon Nrrfhaven and discovered modding. Soon after I found Oznerf.

It was during the phase I wanted to get a bb gun and was looking through last years (?) mid year toy sale catalogues hoping to find one and then I saw nerf and was like 'OMG a gun!' And then the next day I ran to target picked up 2 clear Mavs and put a raider on layby. The next day I ran to Kmart and bought a NF and put a LS. layby.

Went over to my friends house and we had a war with his cousins but they all owned their own guns and I was running around with a secret strike.

Dog was barking in my new unit every time a neighbor walked past. Went to Kmart to buy a cheapo water pistol, saw the Maverick on special for $8 and it all began.

And in case you are wondering, no i am not shooting my dog with nerf guns, i got that water pistol as well :-).

I bought a maverick and started to get more skilled with it then I got more guns to see what I could do

I got an electric eel (don't remember how) when I was a wee little lad. Didn't play much with it after the age of 13 and my sibling got a maverick and started modding, so I got an alpha trooper to one-up my sibling. And as I was looking for ways to mod my alpha trooper I stumbled on SGnerf's modding site and that led me to NH/NR/oznerf.

My friend bought me a mav, eventually it broke so I googled how to fix it and found oznerf.

My friend told me a nerf gun could be modded. Because I was heavy into making mods for Bethesda games, the fact that I could change a toy appealed to me. I ended up buying a stampede case my friend had one and I thought it was cool, and modded it successfully as my first mod.

I first got myself a Buzz Bee Belt Blaster several years ago (maybe 2008?). Damaged it, then left it in the toy gun cupboard for a few years. Then, I saw the Recon in a BigW catalogue in approx June 2010 and got that. From there, I got a Bandolier and NF from the Kmart sale just after BigW.
Obviously my Recon didn't fare particularly well in my first war (although it was still extremely fun), so then I wanted better stuff, like a Deploy, then a Stampede, an AT, an LS...
And I just so happened across a 4B in Docklands Toyworld in just after New Year's 2011. Having read about it on the net, I bought it (for $20).
From there, it's really been waiting for stores to have good sales on the blasters I want (or even ones I don't want, then buying them anyway).

Went to a mates house and his younger brother had a Nitefinder, a vulcan and a buzzbee chaingun. We had a bit of a battle which I quite enjoyed so, I thought I'd look into getting a few of my own guns. So far I've got a Longshot (painted and removed AR - plans for future mods)and a Maverick (painted and modded today, just have to put it back together) and I bought a Barrel Break off ebay which should arrive early next week. Whilst I was looking at buying some Nerf gear, I discovered that a few of mates are actually into modding and having wars.

I bought my friends son a 2 pack of mavericks. After hours of running around like kids, I decided to start buying some. No I have 2x mavs, a raider, deploy, barricade and a LS.

TryHardGamer47 got me into nerf

Massive house war for 3-4 hrs at my mates house 3v3. Wipeout pistols, a couple of nerf and heaps of buzzbee. Awesome time, then I went to go buy 2 nitefinders.

My stock Raider sucked and I searched how to make it better... end of story.

Got a nite-finder, after my brother starting collecting nerf guns for display purposes. I eventually got all his guns

I got a Maverick for my birthday from a freind. Didn't use it that much. Come yr 6 my teacher was into nerf, and it all started.

Wanted Nerf guns for a while; parents weren't as interested. Was out picking up rubbish around town, sliced open my leg with glass and got it stitched up. (12 stitches). Went shopping with Mum, and she felt sorry for me. I jumped at the chance, and persuaded her to get me a Maverick.

And thats how it all started.

I liked the mav... then it EVOLVED!

Lol I remember that and then you got a nite finder then moded it and when I came to your birthday party I was like holding it shooting glow sticks out of it then thought I might of wanted one so a mate bought me one, and that's how I stared nerf XD

I was in Melbourne living with the salvation army while I was doing a course with them, my roommate had a recon to which I thought was cool, but I didn't really care too much about it.

Later in the year I was chatting to a salvo officer in training and he told me you could mod nerf guns, this got my curiosity going so I got a nightfinder

To this day I still think they are one of the best blasters value/tolerance wise

I just went over to a friends place and of course he had nerf. I played around with his multiple nerf guns for hours swapping stocks and stuff, till I got a mavrick for christmas. I've liked nerf ever since

I remember one day I saw one at big W, right now I have 7 guns. I'm not allowed to get anymore for the rest of the year.
