Seems legit. Interesting that it's under the old n-strike labelling, not n-strike elite though.

I'm with the guys who say it's a post production prototype. It's cleaner than any mod and the way to shell's set up, it looks as though it's been designed around elite parts. Which is awesome. The CS-12 means they have probably scrapped the 18 drum in favour of the 12 shot Retaliator mag. I'm personally a little sad to see the little drum go, but it was rather unreliable at feeding blasters with high fire rates. The 25 drum seems to be what Nerf have deemed a happy medium.

Have to agree, 25 drum is where it's at. I hope they include a stock with it. I'm kind of sick of blaster that can have tons of mad add ons that don't exist.

Hmm, I remember reading about this over on Tactical Tag. Since I can't post links yet, it's under May 2012, and the page is called "Elite Alpha Trooper? Naw, it's just the SotW".

Also there was another page regarding so called "elite" blasters in general, in October 2012, titled "Elite Fakes: All too Easy!"

As mentioned in the pages, it would be worth noting that the elite Alpha Trooper in the picture still has the old N-Strike logo, rather than an elite logo as per the norm, and furthermore, it has the same name as the original N-Strike model. All the new elite blasters which were revamps of the old ones had new names, so why shouldn't this one? I know it may be due to its popularity, but I would still think that Hasbro would come up with a new name. Overall, I'm doubtful as to whether it actually exists, although I would love it if it did.

The Elite Jolt, Rayven and Reflex obviously didn't receive name changes... which is 30% of the currently released Elite series. Doesn't exactly generate much of an argument in your favour...

I'm not sure if the new Jolt and Reflex can be strictly considered as part of the Elite series, because according to Nerf Mods and Reviews, the Elite Jolt and Reflexes were just repaints of the original, with the old N-Strike logo and no increased ranges. Although it generally is, it's not packaged as so, and not listed on Amazon as "Elite". I think the blasters which were reworked with increased ranges, except obviously the Rayven, got new names...well, either way, I was wrong, but in this case I'm more than happy I was. Only question now is when the Elite Alpha will actually get released in Australia, what with all our delayed releases.

Well, the former 2 are just repaints, but in the Elite colours... kinda self-explanatory that they're part of the elite series.

As for Australian release dates... the last 12 months have shown a number of blasters released here quite early, and before a lot of other countries. And, given that we're only receiving the toned-down version, you're much better off getting them from Amazon anyway (and recent purchases have proven them to be cheaper than buying locally)

I reckon these would be the perfect primary for wars where full autos are limited. (Think Foam Fortess Sydney). They should be able to hit 80-90 feet flat easy enough and the rate of fire is very good. They won't chew ammo as much as a Stampede and the bottom loading mag and horizontal grip make for a batter overall package than the Retaliator. I'm seriously wondering now though, if a brass breech can be done differently, could someone squeeze out over 100? I heard from SGN that the breech he made only boosted ranges another 10-15 feet. Brass can be fragile, and if you make the top strip too thin you could easily bend it. So I'm wondering if it's worth it or not.
