    Post  Snipe2 Sun Sep 27, 2009 5:24 am

    Hi everyone,
After having my raider for a week or so i am starting to get annoyed with the lack of power and range.

If anyone has modded their raider please tell me what you have done to mod it and how you have done it.

Also i have a recon spring and i am told that it works well in the raider. Do u put it straight in the gun with the raider spring?

    OR
Do the Uin13 (the guy on YOUTUBE who got the raider 2 months before it came out) mod where th spring is in the stock?

I did the spring in the stock mod. Increases range by about 20ft using stefans. Adding the recon spring won't do much

The same way with putting a better spring in any gun, it moves the plunger fast which means quicker airflow.

I told you Snipe2. Dont get too excited about the raider. It would be a disappointment if your hope are too high. It is just a dart blaster.

I'm not disapointed with it just with most stock guns they have an Air Restricter (WHO EVER INVENTED THOSE STUBID THINGS SHOULD BE HIT BY A TRUCK) which makes every stock gun suck. Most Guns.

(I was joking about the truck)

    (But not about killing him)

    (LOL)

Any more ideas about what to do because I rather not cut the black piece at the end of the main body of the gun.

    Thanks

    Hey snipe,
First open up the raider. (duh)
Then memorize, or photograph the internals so that you remember were all the bits go.
Next remove the main tube with the brace like bit on it, and remove plunger.
After this drill out air restrictor with out drilling in the incorrect place.
Now put the plunger piece back on remove old raider spring and put recon spring in.
Last but not least put the raider back together and go shoot something.
Remember do not stretch spring or cut the rear guard piece off.

    will

    Thanks wilvagilly,
Last night I opened my Raider and had a look at the internals.
Like everyone else said its just a recon turned sideways.
I tried adding both springs (Raider and Recon)but they wouldn't fit into each other so I left the Raider spring.
I E-taped the little hole on the bolt slead tube.

I didn't really want to cut the end off my stock attachment(to do the uin13(YOUTUBE) stock spring mod). Then I realized that my destroyed recon's stock attachment piece is exactley the same so i just cut the end off that.

It doesn't make a differance with a recon spring in the stock (NO DER')

No i didn't take out the AR's because I didn't have a drill(I have a drill but not at my house but at my farm)(and NO im not some bogan kid that just like shooting things).
Can some one tell me what spring would work in the gun and ranges of their Raider.
    See ya'

The only reason nerf guns have air restrictors is because they were originally for kids, so it's safe to play with. That's why it's called a "nerf" gun:

    The Definition of Nerf
    verb

1.(slang) to weaken, water down, or dumb down
e.g: The lightning spell was pretty powerful before they nerfed it.

So don't necessarily run down the inventor of ARs with a vehicle, he's only doing his job

The problem is the RAider isn't going to do much more than a short range blizzard of shots. Good for a rush or indoor Nerf games, but not exactly Mr. Range. Best part of the raider IMO is the drum mag. Whack that on a Recon or Longshot, and you got yourself some nice firepower. Definately remove the AR and if you can find an appropriate spring replacement I'd throw that in there too. Trying to come up with a decent raider mod myself. If I come up with something I'll post it.
