G'day, Preety nice homemade blasters you have here. I myself havent got one on me today but I thought I would post a idea.

I would use the shell from a BuzzBee TrueHeroes Plasma Blaster and create an airgun to fit.
Basic idea in the image.

Changed it from the suggestions i got but still WIP.

Still have a lot more work to do including: finding a leak (somewhere :()and fixing it, making a speed-loader, making a triple speedloader :), maybe a little paint-job or just add some more e-tape to make it look cool, and possibly adding a tacticool rail where the scope is at the moment!!

Also where there is E-tape, alot of people thought is was just E-tape,but there is actually Super Glue and Hot Glue so I can make it super air tight.

Any suggestions to anything else I can add or change??

This is an opened lazer tag gun which I plan to put some home made internals into.
(Sorry for picture quality was taken on a macbook)

On a side note here is my concept for a gas piston small projectiles launcher. These should be made from ally, or brass... but steel can be used too (over kill) Do not make from PVC. operating pressure is 150-250 PSI. The have a large tank and a small chamber so all are capable of a few shots before a recharge is needed.


Build cost: $40-50 if you have the right tools

Notes:
>Because these are gas piston rifles, a muzzle brake must be used to get accuracy.
>I would recommend using light darts with this, as heavy ones will cause some damage at point blank

>Protective glasses must be worn is you care about not being blind.

I have not built this, but when i put a 12.7mm dart in a ~14mm barrel of one of my diy air rifles, at 110psi i ripped a hole through a coke can,,,, Gas piston operated guns are much more powerful than spring piston guns, safety is very important when using them. (Do not aim for face, back of head)

Unless you have a gun license such guns are illegal. Please do not encourage forum members to engage in illegal activity. Nerf is borderline as it is (the way we modify them), this IS an air rifle, and if modified nerf guns get thrown in this lot then we're all fucked

Even if you do have a class A, you can be booked under the capacity to manufacture arms

Hmm, so just using CobraNerf's (countless others can be used) diy idea as an example, is that too considered an "Air rifle" because mine is essentially a metal version of that.

Yup they are all banned. None of them would be allowed at nerf wars anyway. Homemade guns that utilise a plunger system are usually ok as long as they are not horrendously overpowered, because high pressure is hard to achieve with a plunger, however all homemade air guns besides HAMPS are banned as they are most definitely illegal weapons in AUS.

I know not all of you care but I build nerf guns to play the sport, not just to see how much range I can get

I see,
I too care mostly about playing with my mates, not only wars but target shooting too. I would only use high pressure to get a heap of shots before i needed to recharge. (heaps of air behind a cheap regulator reducing it down to 30-40 psi or something = 50+ shots) Also if you notice, the T is where the air to be passed to the barrel will be held, this diagram is a bit out of proportion as that T is maybe 1/2" (not much air). Although gas powered guns are more powerful, i would expect this to get maybe 20 meters angled.

But if they are not welcomed in this forum (didn't see that in the rules, so maybe it should be put there ) then i will not post my progress/ideas in making such things.

No, no there is nothing in the rules saying you cant, just we don't really want any old kid having a go at this because making these sorts of things are dangerous...

Yeah they sure are!!
One of mine can get a nail through 19mm pine! It is because of this that i take out the fill valve/ do some damage to the gun, so if someone sees it they cant kill people!

I'm sorry to ruin your tea party, but this thread is pictures only! You both, esspecialy -Aj- , should know better.

I take no credit for this blaster whatsoever but cosidering ive just aquired a longshot ill try to show you the modifications (aesthetics) im aiming for.
Also im doing all the interior mods (AR removal, Custom spring ect...)



Not to sure about the shoulder mod... any idea?

If you're trying to make a G36 (as you posted in another thread) you'd be better off leaving the rail on - the G36 has that distinctive hoop rail.

You've red-squared the part before the stock, you CANNOT remove that part as it houses the plungertube, bolt etc.

60cm long aluminum Blowgun. A little more blinged out that what I had at the Nerf war. The front of it has an endcap, which obviously is removed to operate. The mouthpiece is made from a 20mm to 15mm PVC reducing coupler, which has been cut back.

For when lungs ain't up for the job of firing the Blowgun, call in the HAMP.

And yes, that bit of cardborad does in fact say pizza

Curious, I have seen one by U3 or the like on youtube. But may I ask a few questions?
- Is it tiring to fire?
- Is the clip, assuming it is a hopper, oversized and awkward or small and low cap'?
- How exactly does it work? Is it just the air force behind the plunger thing pushing the dart out?
- Complex, time consuming and expensive or simple, quick and cheap?

Playing around with PVC parts at 5am can sometimes yeild results.


Full auto blowgun: Super G rapid max
Fires faster and more reliable than my old one.


Tis no wye governor. thats a Tee to a 45.
Using this thing attached to a Hamp yeilds a 2 or 3 dart shotgun

Built a snap, they're fantastic - highly recommended for everyone to make as they can be easy as pie.

This particular one has a pump action grip which was made using random bits of mild steel I found at work - aluminium would make it a lot lighter but hey this was free

Here it is ... yes it's just green/black coloured e-tape on there for purtiness.



The halfpipe channel of pvc is there to guide the pumping motion and prevent flexing.
The metal arms are attached to a thick piece of polycarbonate with a hole dremeled out of it so the 15mm pvc plunger rod can slide freely through it.

Primed with ~16cm of draw - could have made more but it's already shooting way harder than it should.... full draw [and hence full spring compression] would be about 18cm.



Priming handle is returned to starting position before firing - three black o-rings are placed at the end to protect the gun from impact shock when the endcap hits the polycarbonate. I made it so that the endcap->polycarbonate->rear bushing would take all the force of the shot as this alleviates the stress placed on the front bushing which, at the moment, is simply held in via friction [no screws/glue etc]

Springs used were 4x c830 springs from bunnings ... I couldn't find any 836's so had to make do with what was available - it is quite hard to prime for the younger ones, currently working on adding an improved foregrip to help with that.

Ranges = big blast ranges.

Low-Profile Nitefinder trigger.
Inspired by the Crossbow trigger with next to no trigger pull to engage the catch, this Homemade trigger sets off the catch after about 4mm of pull, Don't worry..It do-sent go off unexpectedly, that is what the spring it for (very messy atm)

My Mega Shotgun made from a Mega Missile tank and pump that fires A scatter shot of 5 to 7 stefans depending on size of foam

I some how made the trigger for this by useing a small peice of metal rod onto a steel shaft useing 100mm of 15mm PVC as a pump action mechanism



Ranges are mostly 60ft with the scatter shot effect depending on faom size like i said before

Uncompressed spring length is 20cm
When blaster is primed - the spring is at full compression of 6cm.



T-piece [pump grip] is slid back until snap trigger catches
wooden dowel protrudes from the rear of the blaster - it is simply used to keep the spring straight behind the plunger rod



Pump grip is returned to starting position before firing.

I used a random spring I had lying around with a very small ID & OD [approx. 10mm ID and 13mm OD]
Spring has about the same spring constant as the c380 I used in my first SNAP - which is posted earlier in this thread.

Plunger rod constructed similar to the snap crossbow made by Carbon on nerfhaven [ this thing was originally created as a crossbow attempt - but PVC bow arms didn't work very well for me so I put a spring behind the plunger rod and made it a regular pump SNAP ]

Just slapped on some more e-tape to decorate it similar to my first snap - too lazy to paint these things...


Doesn't quite shoot as hard as my first pump snap [this spring is only 20cm long whereas the other snap had 30cm of c380 springs]- but still hard enough to break cardboard.

It looks messy but cheap and easy to make.

Features a 25mm Plug, 2x 15mm PVC end caps, a M10 washer and a 1/8 x 18mm screw and nut.
