i got a coat hangar chopped off L shapes and glued it to either side of the bolt sled

I laminate mine in 0.5mm Aluminium sheet, which can be bought quite cheaply from bunnings.
Cut the sheet to size (I cut it slightly over size as it can move around while drying), mix up some super strength epoxy and clamp the two together. Leave for a few days then trim the edges
