Re: Aluminium nerf parts
I now have 2 new springs
1. LongShot spring 5x stock
2. Recon spring 3x stock
I don't have an aluminium LS sled so I havnt tried that but it fits in plunger tube nicely
I have tested the recon spring
Using crappy old darts if any fire straight, I can go through the doors and hit the wall 45feet away

If I ordered a raider plunger tube (Plastic) and recon spring, what would be the ETA at the moment?

Re: Aluminium nerf parts
I'm still waiting for my springs and longshot sleds to be made
I have completed the longstrike plunger and am almost finished with the deploy plunger
Next will be a raider then an alpha strike plunger as soon as I get my hands on one

Re: Aluminium nerf parts
Hey chris what are the chances of your being able to make a longshot backplate like the one black tactical makes? This
I have the BT one but it is 5mm thick, I need something thinner (closer to 2mm) as the BT one is just too much for the springs to handle.

They are similar size to the stock ones
I dont understand why you want a thinner one

Re: Aluminium nerf parts
Because as I said, the BT ones are 5mm thick which causes the springs to compress too much. This causes too much tension for the catch (even though it is alu and double springed) so I can't prime the gun.

Re: Aluminium nerf parts
It can be done
I'm not sure taking off a few mm is going to make much of a difference
Is the plunger part that catches damaged or worn at all?

Before you go get another backplate, you could try to file and sand a chamfered edge into the BT trigger catch. It's one of the troubleshoots another member on this forum did and now the BT parts work perfectly.

Using chris's catch which is double springed. Quite simply the gun works with the stock backplate but not the BT one. The BT one works in other guns. Its just the power of the springs that is getting insane at that compression level (BT V2 and a longshot blue spring).

You could cut half a coil off the springs, that would probably do the same thing.

Re: Aluminium nerf parts
Hi Chris,
I just wanted to confirm if you have/can do the Longshot trigger catch in the durable plastic to go with the alu boltsled? and if you have any plunger caps for the Longshot available (the one with that screws on to the end of the plunger).

I can make a longshot trigger in plastic but itll cost the same
Which end, The plunger tube with the 2 screws or the other end with the screw through the center and with the o-ring?

Sorry maybe I'm confusing something. (al)Boltsled + (pl)Trigger catch = (al)Boltsled + (al)Trigger catch?
Just trying to understand what you mean by "itll cost the same"
Its the end with the 2 screws - made in durable plastic.

The one with the two screws is called the rear plunger plate.
I believe that this is what you broke and are looking for.

Plastic or aluminium small parts will cost the same to purchase in plastic as they do in aluminium. The parts are so small I dont gain much time which is offset by the cost of the plastic which is more then the aluminium.
On the larger objects, plunger, sled, they are larger and I save a alot of time when using plastic

Re: Aluminium nerf parts
I have a quick question about your springs, Chris. What are the loads on them? Double and 5x the stock spring is all well and good, but I'd like to know the load in terms of kilograms. Thanks

I've just sent you the money via Bank Transfer (you'll get in instantly given we're both with the same bank).
What I don't understand is why I was quoted only $25 during the checkout phase as opposed to your $30 that you tried to get me through e-mail. I've sent $25 as a result.

I changed the price, low quantities include shipping e.g $10, $5part + $5shipping, higher quantities have free shipping 5 x 45, hence only $25
