    + Nerf Recon CS-6 + Empty + Nerf Recon CS-6 +

    Post  XvGR1MREAPERvX Wed Apr 13, 2011 10:51 am

I got this gun a while ago off my father who will do or buy anything Nerf related for me. So he got me the Recon.
When I un-boxed it, I knew automatically how to put together and operate it without the instructions. It is a pretty straight forward gun.

Its mobility and accuracy are outstanding but its range isn't much, although it is better than the raiders'.

It has a flimsy stock but the fact that it can hold a spare clip makes up for it.
The amount of tactical rails is pretty good but the one on the 'cocking' device is pretty much useless because anything besides the stock accessory gets in the way.

I took the stock off and put it on my AT, I took the detachable barrel extension off and put it aside because it's range is decreased by it. It makes a great back-up weapon/clip fed pistol.

    Time for the ratings children.
Accuracy: 8.9/10 - Awesome accuracy, decreased when barrel extension is taken off.
Range: 7/10 - Not bad actually, better than the raider.
Mobility: 9/10 - Good, but even better when you detach everything.
ROF: 7/10 - You can go fast but at the price of damaging your darts if not careful.
Reloading: 9/10 - Easy as, just pull a clip out of your pants and slide into place (sounds dirty).

OVERALL: 7.9/10 - Good gun, but I recommend using as a backup weapon in CQB if anything.

    Haha, It's a recon

Kidding, it is good for an indoor war pistol and that's it, unless you make a megacon or something, I wouldn't bother buying it

@ Grimreaper once again a brilliant review

    Now here's my input

Personally I don't like the Recon (Once again I received it as a present)

The recon isn't heavy and is very maneuverable. It is useful in most CQ combat situations. It is most useful in its SMG style setup.

The downsides are that the clips are to small and I seem to always be needing to reload. The barrel extension helps with accuracy but lowers the range which isn't that good to start with. Also the priming method wasn't the best seeing as it made putting any of the attachments on the tactical rail useless as they got in the way. It also jams a lot.

Yeah man, I only say what I think, plus I add a few writing techniques and out comes a great review.
True, it jams a bit. All Hasbro needs to do is make the clips bigger for the next set of Nerf blasters they make.
But the only solution is to buy 18 dart or the 35 dart drums.

If you like my reviews, check out my one on the Alpha Trooper...

If you have a Raider before you have a Recon, you'll think it's shit. Which I did when I got one for Christmas.

How do you come up with your ratings? Do you compare the guns to each-other?

I like it as a pistol, as you can reload it much faster than a maverick or spectre.

however, I have upgraded mine with a metal plunger, alpha trooper o-ring and BT spring and have a perfect seal (vacuum loads)

getting some pretty absurd ranges with stingers.

Clip system guns can't vacuum load. Only single-shot pistols can.
Do you even understand how it works?

if its loaded manually it can. obviously thats not ideal, but it can and does work. loading via clip system it usually doesn't.

Ok people here's what i think and you don't have to agree with it. When stock I'm not a huge fan of the recon. However, if you mod the hell out it and pad the back of that annoying reverse plunger the recon makes a pretty decent indoor war blaster. yes if you fire too fast it gets jammed and yes it only comes with a six dart clip, but you can use any size Nerf clip with it. as an overall rating id give the recon cs-6 a 6 out of 10. that's my opinion and feel free to disagree with me. like it or hate it, it's up to you.

CS blasters can vacuum load. My old Recon (now my partners) vacuum loads with the clip in and my mates Raider does on occasion as well

    @killerbunny.

Clip System blasters can vacuum load as long the seal is good. It's just that you don't notice the vacuum load since it's clip fed.
