Interesting idea but the 'gunslinger' would need some kind of advantage as each class has it's ups and downs. Gunslinger seems to be a bit weak compared to the others.

What if I do what clunk said? Other than that I'm pretty handy with a 4B if someone wants to loan me one. Also I've got a magstrike at informer's place so if I can get get a spare clip or two from someone then that would also be acceptable.
I'd love a 4b for a day, if someone can lend me a breeched one I'll bring a cash security deposit for it.

Now I know who you are
I don't have a 4B (I wish) but I'm happy for you to use your LS (Without V2).
And I do have a spare MS clip if you'd like to use that.

We seem to have about 20ish people coming so we'll have teams of 7-10 people.
Just so that this doesn't turn into an all out titan battle I'll only allow a total of 4 sharpshooters. If you are responsible and would like to be a sharpie PM me sometime before the war.

What about this class?
Shotgunner
Primary:Airgun Shot Gun Load (3Darts)
Secondary:Pistols
Best for close quarters against tanks.
Anyway i might be comming, but I seems quite far from where I live. If I do I'll bring my shotblast

I've just read the rules for this war, as I normally don't bother..
Maximum range 130 ft. Is that flat? What style of darts are for hire?
If it's a flat 130ft, and you're utilising heavy sili-tipped blue foam, you won't need to remove the V2 spring. To get the ranges I do out of a Longshot, the barrel is elevated at around 8 degrees (just above flat..), and I use custom-weighted stinger's.
When I was testing the last 3 LS commissions I've made, range is down to around 105 feet using the heavy sili's, and around 125 feet with my Stinger's. Well within the 130 feet limit.
And the velocity is nothing like that of an air blaster either.

We'll be using snap cap darts, and that rule is for the TDM part of the day otherwise the range limit is set by your class.
In mister_elliot's case, 80ft.
Photo Ninja, If you want to use your shotblast it must be shotgun loaded at all times and your class will be a soldier (80ft)
Boosted, I will hopefully get some nice footage, my sister might take some photos too.

Yes it does and it cannot be deflected like nerf darts.
Grenades also beat their sheild darts however, do not.

Copy that - using Stinger's will definitely warrant only a stock spring. I'm not sure what ranges you'll get from it, but I'd be surprised if it hits 80 feet. If it does, velocity will be crap, so don't expect too much from your new commission...
I'm interested to hear how it performs anyway.
Cheers,

Is that because of the lighter weight?
We'll be using heavy snap caps (x2 washers, one big one small) so they're pretty heavy.

I haven't tested any LS with just a stock spring and brass breech, so I'm unsure of the results. The method I use for plunger seal may be a little too tight for the single spring to work effectively. Should make for some interesting data for me to work on anyway.
The "heavy stinger's" would be fairly light compared to my collection.
Generally for the Longshot's, I use 3 big washers in the small snap cap. This seems to be about the best weight I can get to match up with my mod's. The 2 washer darts are a little light, and the heavy sili's are a bit heavy (even when I trim down the tail). The lighter darts tend to fish-tail quite a bit, but the sili's just have a range decrease, while accuracy remains very good.
PS - sorry to hijack your war thread!! haha
I'm just fairly interested in seeing how my commission's hold-up in a war environment.
Cheers,

The one I sold you should weight approximately 1.2g which are the 'heavy' snap caps, as they fly pretty darn straight. I get the occasional veering off, but I get that with sili tips too.

Yeah, I've made a few using streamline foam and they fly fast and accurate.
Thanks

That's good to hear. Also I still have another 1000 Red Snap Caps so when you do run out just give me a holla. Once payment comes, I should be able to send them the next day. Also you may want to super glue the bigger washer in because it has a better bond to the cap that way lol.

My triple washered darts weight in at about .16 grams heavier. Which is a fair bit really.

I guess you really need the extra weight when you've got springers hitting 170ft!

haha yeh.. but it does get to the point where the weight starts working against you. I'm pretty happy with the cut-down tails on the heavy sili's, but a little more range would be nice. They'd be perfect for wars though, as the decreased velocity plus the safety factor of the tip would be a great combination. The only down-side is that due to the shortened tail, the tips tend to snap off fairly often - mustn't be enough surface area for decent adhesion.
I think the light sili's will go the other way though, as they're not designed for heavily modded DP or Air blaster's. I was considering adding a washer under the sili tip, but that's pretty much defeating the purpose of the sili-tips.
Hence why I'm so interested in the medium-weighted sili-tips. I think they'll be perfect for my LShots's.

The heavy tips. I've got about 2000 in a box right now. I probably won't use them for a while though.

Hey clunk, I'm definitely only going without the v2 for the hours of ffp, will maybe even try and restore the v2 in the field, and will be epoxying it back in that evening. So down tuning will be VERY temporary.

Can I be a sharpshooter instead? Because shot gun loading still has a slow rate of fire and is very inaccurate, or is there already 4 sharpshooters?

Yeah, I think you can be a sharpie, just be careful about shooting to close.
Minimum engagement for sharpies is 60ft.
(Two sharpshooter spots available)

Can a tank's melee weapon also act as a shield?
I'm thinking: boxing glove. :p
