I beg to differ. I've got a scope on my LShot sighted in to about 45 feet. Yeh, it's not a 100% kill ratio, but still better than 10 feet!! lol

Has anybody ever (successfully) replaced a Maverick plunger with one that isn't... how to put it delicately... crap?
Always a bit of a Mav fan at heart, and I've been trying out some ideas to make it more practical and reliable.

The only way I know of is to make nitemavs, although I haven't tried it myself.
I don't think we have a mod guide here for one,but NH has some me thinks.

Re: The Questions Thread.
I was just considering getting a NF to try something like that, I'll do a little browsing on NH to try and find some info. Cheers mate!
EDIT:
Decent looking mod found here; http://www.nerfhq.com/smf/index.php?topic=3494.0
I might try and take it a step further and get a better seal from the plunger.

Just wondering, are the recon barrel extensions easy to take apart or are they glued? I want to put the Longshot inner tube into it. Thanks!

Nope, only screwed in, easy to take apart
Edit
But to put the long shot extension in you're gonna probably need to de-glue the guide brackets on the recon extension to place on the longshot extension

It is not too hard to do at all, I used the LSFG's faux barrel to cover the UPVC barrel on the megacon seen here, the bottom blaster in the big bag of epeen.
Troll gooni is trolling
This will affect your range in a bad way. But I am thinking this barrel will probably getting a coat of mat black.

Barrel length for 4B
For those who have RSCBs on their 4Bs, what barrel length worked best for you? I'm using 16 mm conduit if it helps.

What have you done to the NF? Unless it has a barrel replacement of some sort and a nice spring the scopes still won't work more than 3M haha.
Nice to see you're into modding now though

Re: The Questions Thread.
Another question, where's the best place to buy electrical wiring for mods? E.g. to hook up the laser module in Clunk's (I think?) Longshot/Barricade mod.

I'm guessing Dick Smith's would be a good start

Most of those electrical sites can be fairly confusing mate, with the way they list their products. I've spent numerous hours searching for the simplest of stuff.

It's probably identical stuff mate, so no issues there.
I just use jaycar or altronic's for my supplies, hence why I sent that link.

Re: The Questions Thread.
Small note, best to check the stuff in person. Some hook-up wire I have is solid core while some is multi-stranded. Solid core will stay in position better, but will break a lot easier if you bend it repeatedly (and might break anyway if you nick the wire while stripping it).
So if you think you're going to be moving stuff around a fair bit, best go with the multi-stranded stuff.

Some good advice on checking it in person, but maybe not practical in everyone's situation. The wire I linked to at jaycar is multi-strand, and I'm assuming the stuff from DS is as well, from this quote:
"Featuring 12 x 2m of different coloured strands. All are 10 x 0.12mm cable"

Re: The Questions Thread.
Good to know the Jaycar stuff is multi-strand stuff, should definitely be good for this.
I'd lean towards the DS stuff being stranded as well, but the wording is a bit ambiguous though, the strands being different colours seems to indicate that each length of wire is a different colour. Unless they mean that each strand within the wire is a different colour, in which case I'd be questioning what exactly it is they're selling.

Re: The Questions Thread.
I read the DS description of the wire as 12 x 2m lengths of different coloured cable.
Each hook-up cable consists of 10 strands of 0.12mm wire, to make up a 1.2mm cable, plus insulation, making it approx 1.6mm cable, which is pretty standard for light-duty hook-up wire.
And that, boys n girls, is the full extent of my electronic's knowledge... haha
But, seriously, that's how rigger/crane driver's refer to wire rope slings - x amount of strands, at x diameter, so I'm assuming this application would be similar.
On a side-note, I've also used solid insulated wire stripped from network cables in a LED Maverick mod, and apart from the issue of snapping, it worked quite well, and cost me nothing.
Cheers,

Ahh, I see. For some reason I was only reading the "different colour strands" part.
Silly me, should learn to read the whole quote.

Re: The Questions Thread.
It's not really worded very well. It is a pretty good price though, I may have to look in to getting some at some point down the track.
I do usually buy hook-up wire by the roll though, in black and red. 25 metres for $4.95 from Jaycar, it's a pretty good deal. 13 strands of 0.12mm tinned copper wire, which would make it a bit better quality than the 10 x 0.12 from Dick Smith's, which would also explain the price difference.

Re: The Questions Thread.
hay guyz wazzupenin. i has a problem.
What's been happening is my beloved Titan, has been being really bitchy lately...
It has an epic leak whenever I pump it.. I can barely fill the tank up half way without it all leaking. It's leaking out of the air-release valve. By looking into where the air comes out I see the little orange ring has a teeny crack in it. This must have happened whilst modding it, probably chipped it with the Dremel, i suppose.
At first it only had a very slow leak, but now it's in my repairs/ unusable pile.
Any way I can fix this? Or do I need to buy a valve section
Inside the orange part on the very right of the Titan is where it's leaking from.
NOT MY PIC
