Hey OzNerf.
Long time enthusiast, first time poster.
Not sure if it's already been brought to your attention (I did a search which yielded no results)
but let me know if I'm out of line. I'd hate to get warned on my first post.
I've found a place in Adelaide that sell some pretty bad ass springs that fit Longshots and Longstrikes
Industrial Springs
341 - 359 Port Road,
Hindmarsh
(Pretty much corner of Port and South Road)
Its a huge warehouse that has a small office/customer service area.
Just walk in and ask for a "Grease Gun" spring. They've got a box of them for $4 each
They guys there are really friendly and knew exactly what I was wanting
ME: Hi, I'm uh looking for a certain kind of spring...
GUY: ... For a Nerf gun?
ME: Bingo.
The springs are a bit too long and are conically tapered at one end
So you need to cut it down and bend the end a little
but for $4, the power it yields is huge.
They've also got boxes of other randomly sized springs
because they manufacture industrial springs there and have heaps of cut offs and old springs from their machinery.
Unfortunately actually getting a custom spring made will cost a minimum of $50
Also note that the springs don't fit Recons, nor do they sell offcut springs that would fit Recons.
(That was the reason I was there in the first place)
Hope this helps.
Also, this isn't any sort of paid endorsement for Industrial Springs.
I just really liked them.
And I'm sure they'll get by fine without Nerfers coming in and spending $4 at a time.
