Ok,
So I thought that I would try my hand at a write-up. I wanted to fix one of my BBUMB's but at the same time make it a little stronger. Tank expansion and external pump ensued.
Materials you need:
1 x BBUMB
1 x 40mm PVC End cap
12cm of 40mm PVC
Some off cuts of 15mm PVC or similar (Anything will do. Explained later)
PVC Cement
Epoxy of choice
Hot glue
E-Tape
Tools required:
Dremel
Hacksaw
Pliers
First image is not mine, found it on google. Only because I didnt have a stock blaster to start with.
So go ahead an open up the shell. While you have the screw driver out, completely strip the inside off all the junk. All those release buttons and extra guides have to go.
Once open you are going to want to cut as per the picture below:
For the first cut, you want to get a nice flush cut right on the rim of that reducer. Give it a clean up and sand ready for it's next job.
Next cut is on the stock air tank (yeah that little pipe thing). I cut mine 4cm from where it attaches.
Time for some epoxy.
You are going to want to be pretty liberal here as there is only the lip that attaches to the 40mm PVC.
I did come back and put some hot glue over where the gap was, just to seal any possible air leaks from the epoxy not sitting properly in that void.
After that, wrap it up with some E-tape. Again, probably over kill but i really want this held together well.
Drill a hole into your 40mm PVC as the inlet for your pump. If you are not using a bike pump or equivalent you might consider putting a one-way valve here.
This is what those off cuts were for. I found out the hard way, but as the pressure builds in your new tank it causes it to release from the front.. So this just prevents it all falling apart in your blaster whilst pumping.
You will need to take a few posts and guides out of your shell depending on how you seat the new tank. It all fits nicely, once removed.
Drill a hole in the opposite side of your shell to feed out the pump hose. And close up your shell.
Add and RSCB or Barrel of choice and you are good to go.
I have to wait till the morning to get a proper range test, but from what I can manage inside it has a lot more power.
Credits to clunk for the idea of tank expansion.
