Nerf ballistic knife!

Hey guys i just found this out today. What you will need: A plunger tube and rod.


1. First you load the dart in






2. Then you pull the rod back.(Sorry the pic is upside down because my dad took ot that way.....)





3. Then you slam the rod forward and the dart will go about 10 FT

Not exactly a ballistic knife because I wouldn't to get hit by 'plastic' in a war melee battle. The design could be improved. Use that concept and use it somewhere else. It's a start =).

I don't think any plastic goes anywhere.. more like manually launching a dart 10 feet from a plunger using your arms power rather than a spring, not sure why this is useful?

It's pretty much a HAMP, in smaller proportions.

Yeah its just somthing you would much around with at hime not at a war.

Hmm I have to agree with others. This is not really what I call fun. From the last pic, it looks like you run the risk of slamming your wrist onto the boltsled hanging at the bottom, that's not going to be fun. Second, this is nothing like a knife. And finally I wouldn't call 10ft range as ballistic at all, I would rather throw the darts with my bare hands and they would fly much further than 10ft.

I made my own using the top half of my switch shot, all you need is to attach a bit of plastic to extend the bottom of the catch and created a little button to go on that, mine goes around 70ft with a spring upgrade.

If you could some how put that into a gun and put a trigger on it then it would make a good dart blaster. Anyone have any ideas?

Would probably work pretty well in a longshot. ; )

Also I think I saw a nitefinder modded with longshot internals somewhere? Could be an option

I think the adding a spring would help.... maybe a longshot shell. This noobness of this thread almost hurts.

why don't people think of the secret strike when it comes to "ballistic knives"? honestly, the thing is tiny, and awkward to begin with, so making some kind of comfortable handle around it that you could squeeze to fire the dart would kind of make sense...

anyway, if you're keen on working with the longshot tube, you could push the pin out that connects the bolt sled to the bolt to make it easier to hold. you can do it with a small nail punch to start it off then use pliers to pull the pin out the other side. it can be a little tricky though, be careful not to slip and break anything..

Yep, probably the biggest waste of the internals of the best Nerf Springer.

I can understand the usefulness of Melee weapons, but a melee weapon that fires a dart.... not overly useful.

And, yeh, can't really see much value in this... try googling "knife" and see what one looks like...
