Selling 2 Stampede blasters Empty Selling 2 Stampede blasters

Post  sakabato Sun Apr 08, 2012 1:51 pm

Due to a reading fail on my part, I've ended up with two stampede blasters. (with nothing else...)
They look like they're still strapped into their box.

Happy to sell them for what I shelled out which is $25. I also have one stampede shield from a proper box that I bought later and figure i dont need that I'm happy to throw in for $5.

Wondering if anyone will pick up from Melbourne as postage is probably gonna cost a big % of the value of the gun.

Also happy for you to bring a screwdriver, batteries and a clip to test, but like I said, looks like they haven't even been taken out of the box.

Ahh so all clips and accessories have been taken OUT of the box? Just for clarification because it feels like that wasn't really mentioned until near the middle/end.

Correct, no clips, no grip, no shield. I got them off ebay for $25 each and I thought they were new in the box. The description further down said it was for the blaster body only. I ended up getting a new one from a shop so I have the two bodies extra.

sakabato: If your planing to mod the Stampede, i would suggest that you should keep the 2 blasters until after you have successfully modded the one blaster. This way if anything goes wrong you have a spare on hand, to check or get parts out of.

No plans on modding it until Orange Mod works comes up with something that I can just drop in. There are too many screws and bits in the stampede compared to all the other guns I have and I'm only just starting down the modding path.

Besides, I have enough stuff to play with at the moment. Theres no point in having so many stampedes although dual wielding has some appeal.

Longstrike (with OMW massacre kit on the way)
    Longshot (pre-ordered Immortal kit)
    Vulcan (clear, no plans)
    Maverick (basic mods)
    Stampede (no plans)

I'm not going to get started on what a waste of coin anything from OMW is...

But, modding a Stampede is really basic, honestly. It's a spring upgrade, o-ring replacement and lube, and a voltage upgrade. The hardes part is soldering the leads to the terminals in the battery tray. Any pre-made modification kit for a Stampede will require you to open it up regardless, and change the spring. You'd be much better off just buying a spring from Servulus, as OMW tends to sell the weakest possible plunger spring upgrades known to man...

Anyway, each to their own. But, once you've used a voltage increased Stampede, with a ROF of 4 darts a second or better, you'll wonder why you waited so long to mod one!! haha

Plus 1 to keeping stamps and modding them!!! Getting a Serv's spring was the best thing I did for them, other then the minimization mod to one of mine along with the Lipo powered battery mod.

Removing the AR, Safety's etc was easier then installing my mates OMW Recon kit - that was a pain actually. I have a Masacre kit coming from OMW for my recon also, but I think its going to be wasted coz with twin modded stamps, a modded Rayven and 3 kick ass night finders, the recon might feel out of place

atleast keep ONE stamp buddy for parts or learning on. Open it up and get modding soldier!!!

Yeah, I think I might pull this and keep them then. I was reading up on servs springs. Is 13kg a bit much? Will the plastic gears hold up?

Also, I was considering on getting a recon and shortening it for a sidearm, but reading the reveiws, I think I'm going to stick to my maverick and see if I cant mod it to exchange turrets for quick reloading. I cant believe the Maverick has more power and accuracy than my longstrike...

From my understanding the gears will hold up fine so long as your not pushing 17v+ because then you start to need a stronger return spring to get a better ROF and that is what strips the gears.

Servs springs kick ass, very pleased with the results and for the small cost, its brilliant. I got the 4100mAh 11.1v lipo with charger for aubot $85 from a Adelaide Hobby store, its a great combo it seems but I will be intersted to see if my 14.8v lipo or even larger again will help kick some more ass However for a "mild" Stampede it should be reliable and good for all wars and not used for half of one and then melt down. I wanted a reliable, usable gun that I dont have to strip apart every game or always need to be fixing / upgrading parts to compensate.

I fear that pushing past the 16v mark will need more done again.

With my stamp's I have now also done the following:

    Removed AR's
Removed all internal Safety's - leaving the main switch in tact
Resealed the Plunger with double ORings and Teflon Tape
Sealed Air Holes in the rear of the plunger
Filled rear cap with Hot Glue - in plunger end
Filled Plunger barrel rod with hot glue to strengthen it
    Padded Plunger Head

I think tonight I start work on another for my Bro inlaw so I might document everything I do and make a thread on it, i know there is a few already, but i do some things differently then others and with the Lipo mod, it might change some peoples thoughts.

Looking forward to the write up.
Some advice on the safety lock removal ...
If you are going to show how that is done it would be good to state how dangerous it is, Especially a modded stampede (spring and voltage upgrade).
And that leaving the jam door lock in is highly recommended.

Some people don't fully understand how easy it is to lose a piece of you're finger if the blaster discharges while you are clearing out a dart jam.
Also if someone who didn't know that it was removed could put there fingers in there too.
I left my jam door lock (and on/off) in because i have a 5 year old nephew and didn't want him to get hurt.

That sir, is good advice. I understand that. I have a 5 year old and a 3 year old that like to play so its good thinking. I might leave the jam door intact for the Bro inlaws build as hes not the brightest spark
