Umm, looking at your description I see a few interesting points...

SMG body cut and covered with extra durable material (increases distance of fire)
    snip...
Detachable screw on Bushnell 1X40 scope (increases accuracy when firing)

I can not imagine how these mods affect the blaster performance the way that you describe, please correct me if i am wrong.

Yep, fully agree here as well. The few issues I have with this listing...

    1. From most reports, shortening the barrel on a Stampede results in a minor decrease in range.
    2. Using stock darts with a modified Stampede probably isn't the best way of gauging any range increase.
    3. You should really try and list the spring load, and what is a 'modified spring'?
    4. Unprotected 14500's are generally considered to be 4.2v, not 3.6v - at that voltage, they're flat.
    5. You haven't mentioned if there's any clear coat to finish your paint job.
    6. I could be wrong, but in pic 12 with the correct battery combination, it appears that you're mixing Li-ion batt's with alkaline's, which is a major hazard.
    7. A scope on a Stampede is like an ashtray on a motorbike - looks tacticool, but won't help accuracy, especially with streamlines.
    8. Genuine Bushnell Trophy 1 x 40 RDS retail for well over $200 USD.

Don't take this as a flame, just some suggestions to consider if you ever re-list a similar item.
The price is pretty good though. I commission painted Stampede's for over $200 with similar modifications, no scope, and no cosmetic alterations.

Just some more feedback. You should probably avoid using the term 'gun'. You would have noticed Nerf has been trying to call them 'blasters' because there is a bad stigma attached to that term.

Ebay could flip the sh*ts with it. Good luck with the selling though =)!

I would of loved to bid if it wasnt down south(I'm impatient). Also like littlebro said, the term gun is bad and people might think its real. I hope for your sake it sells.

Its good to see a mature and polite response to our suggestions, the blaster does look like you have put quite a bit of work into it, good luck with selling it!

Sorry, I meant still curious as to why 'no clear coat'.... that pj will last maybe an hour at best without it.

And, still wondering what the actual battery configuration is....

Selling Zebra camo Modified Nerf SMG Stampede 16.8V Empty More information

    Post  DJPredator2012 Mon Sep 24, 2012 12:59 pm

I only started to really modify Nerf guns this year and I try my best with trying to understand different concepts of modding on different Nerf guns.

But I don't know where to get clear coat and unsure about what it actually does.

For the battery configuration I actually normally used 4 trust fire batteries with converter casing and two standard D batteries, But now I know that is hazardous.

If I could, I would have inserted a 4 AA battery slot into the battery tray for much easier placement and safety. But I couldn't because of my lack of materials and knowledge about wiring.

I look forward to your replies and hope you are really interested in my Nerf gun.

I might be selling some more if I get to make a profit of this Nerf gun.

If you have a Jaycar or similar electronics supplier nearby, you can pick up one of these for under $2:

    http://www.jaycar.com.au/productView.asp?ID=PH9200.

Solder the black wire to the terminal with the spring on it (boltsled), on the end that's inserted in to the blaster first.
Solder the red wire to the other terminal.

If you can't solder, another option is croc clips.

Other option is to put a dummy AA cell inside two of the AA to D cell converters:

    http://www.ebay.com/itm/Dummy-battery-AA-size-4-pcs-pack-conduct-electric-current-/251150172455?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3a79b78127

There's also various ways of making dummy cells - heaps of guides online, even one on here somewhere, which for some reason didn't make the modification directory, and I can't remember who posted it.

As for clear lacquer, it adds protective coats on top of your paint. If you have a thrift/discount store nearby, I'm sure they'll sell Australian Export paint, or similar. You'll pay somewhere around $4 for a can of gloss clear coat, and that's more than enough to do a Stampede shell. Just clean down your blaster, (would be a good idea to strip it as well) and spray on a couple of very light coats, waiting about half hour between each coat. Then do a few more coats on areas that will be handled excessively (pistol grip, stock, handle etc). Just remember to spray very fine coats, as excessive lacquer will turn any white paint in to a nasty yellowed colour.

    Cheers,

    Jeo
