Yeh its safe, as long as they post it in a postal tube, which were made to post pipes and things of that sort.
But i agree with Psykka, because you may never now if your dart will fit into the brass. Its good to try it before buying.
On that note, i just went into my local hobby shop today and found some 17/32 brass. They are not cheap, its like $3 for what looks like to be 1 foot.

Same, that's super cheap, I thought it was more like seven or eight dollars a foot.

Is it worth getting a dremel and an accessory kit for nerf modding?
How much would a decent dremel and kit cost?

If you can afford it, definitely. I use mine so much. Think you can get an Ozito one which does just fine, no matter what people say, for around fifty? Dremel ones cost a lot more and I'm sure they're worth it, but for my needs, Ozito does just fine.

No point having a rotary tool, and no attachments for it...
Try this, quality not as good as Dremel, but suffices for most of what we do.

Re: The Questions Thread.
there's a pretty small but decent rotary tool in bunnings that comes with quite a few accesories for only $20. I suggest you get that because modding is pretty hard without one.
Edit: it comes with a 60 piece acessory kit and here's the link - http://www.bunnings.com.au/products_product_12v-xu1-xrt060-mini-rotary-tool-kit_584.aspx?search=rotary&sort=priceasc

What are the list of available mods to do for the Vulcan - besides increasing RoF?
Thanks.

You can remove the air restrictors in the belt, sorry but that is all i know
Edit: you can also reinforce that really weak whit plastic piece with epoxy putty and put in an extra spring.

@Echoes, i can give you the address of the hobby shop. @Clunk & Mozart If you guy really want some, i guess i could ship some to you.. But i will have to go back to the shop, test it with my darts, get the correct pricing and length and get back to you. I would have bought some today, but i didn't happen to have my wallet.
Also.. There were only 2 pieces left, hopefully they get more stock.

I got a Ryobi, rotary tool kit. Comes with a digital rotary tool and 216 accessories (just about every accessory) $104 from bunnings.

Re: The Questions Thread.
Common misconception in the vulcan. The belt does NOT have air restrictors. The restrictors is in the actual plunger itself located inside the vulcan blaster.

Punching out those "AR's" in the belt just lets you use streamlines properly.

You can buy a Dremel 300 for $99, or for $129 with flex shaft. Add another $20 for the Jaycar 188 piece accessories kit (I use the accessories kit, not the rotary tool from jaycar) and you've got yourself a really good set-up. IMHO, it's worth paying the extra $50 to get the dremel over the Ryobi, but it comes down to your budget.
@Xoenz - I'm right for brass thanks. I was just pointing out that the price for the brass you listed is very cheap. I've paid more than triple that to get the same size brass online.

I'm quite surprised oznerf doesn't have a mod thread on the vulcan in its directory. Is nerfhaven back up yet?

I haven't touched a Vulcan yet. Why doesn't someone do a write-up on it - stuff relying on NH for mods!! I'd do one, but there's a number of commissions I need to complete before I could even consider breaking open the Vulcan.

Because Vulcans suck.. They're awkward, not much range, not much accuracy. I've never seen one in person, too overpriced for what you get.

I got it as a gift, so that argument is moot.
As usual, I've had to sift through "noobs" trying to put up mods on how they "mod" their Vulcan to be "better".. I'm getting conflicting opinions as to whether the AR removal is worth it or not.

Consider the ease of loading/range/speed a stampede gets. Compare to a vulcan. Add in a scale of ease of weight, 6.8 pound vulcan, vs 4.4 stampede. Then add in the factor of how hard it is to deal with/load an ammo belt VS a simple clip system. The balance is hideously off if you try and wield it with one hand, which is just not practical. The stampede needs a single hand to fire and forget.
If you're using a nerf Vulcan, it's to shoot down one person, not 20, and it's to leave them feeling generally violated, not shot. This is a gun for office warfare, or if you're having a nerf war with some folks in a building with a vantage point to shoot down from. Not designed for a real war situation.
Vulcan = Reviewed. Speculatively.

Also note the complexity of the Vulcan:

Doable, but if I had a choice between modding a Stampede and a Vulcan... I'll stay with the Stampede thanks.

Re: The Questions Thread.
Hey guys, got a nerf barricade that some jerkoff used, which now just munches up one dart, then the trigger jams and the whole mechanism locks up with each firing! You can't turn it off without opening the jam door. Anyone got a tutorial on how to fix a nerf barricade? I've seen a few people mention grinding pieces down to fit in a barricade so it stops jamming, but I haven't seen any walkthroughs on how to do it...

Still, I'll take preference of my Stampede, shooting 85 feet, with minimum 300 RPM, with swappable raider drums, and no misfires.
The Vulcan does have a place in my arsenal though - it's perfectly suited for my 20-month old daughter!!
As noted in a previous thread, I'm still 9 years away from the minimum age-group that the Vulcan is heavily appealing to.

Re: The Questions Thread.
Hey guys random question, couldn't seem to find it in the search tool, would filling in some of the dead space in a reverse plunger system do anything.
I mean theoretically dead space is a minuscule pocket of air which would get compressed by the plunger system closing around it but the actual space it fills doesn't change, which I'm guessing would release the compressed air from the nozzle at a lower rate than say a space 1/4 of the size because of the room the plunger has for the air pressure to equalize before escaping.
Any thoughts or feedback, am I somewhat onto something or am I just plain wrong here?

Re: The Questions Thread.
You can reduce the dead space to some extent with straw mods and the such. Having said that I'm really unsure that it gives you anysignificant range increase. You could attempt one and do some significant testing yourself. I'm yet to see anything that proves reducing the dead space in a reverse plunger gun does much at all.

Re: The Questions Thread.
I've done elaborate testing on a Maverick and Recon with dead-space filled up in the plunger, and the range increase is minimal at best. Admittedly, this was when I was just starting to learn the arts.
But, yeh, give it a try. Maybe use some space invader if you have some handy - at least it wouldn't be a permanent fixture.

What's recommended as plunger padding that I can easily get from a store? I read somewhere that someone suggested those foam things that come in CD/DVD spindles, anyone tried that before?

Any craft foam or some padded disk in which you put under the legs of chairs. That's what i use and it works a treat.
