Can anyone supply approximate flat ranges of a plugged BBUMB please, preferably with some sort of blue foam dart (stinger or sili)?

I'd like to see what, if any, range increase I've picked up by the tank expansion.

    Cheers,

I get about 28-30m with an RSCB, using the heavy tip sili's.. or well-made 45m sili tip 'solids' (the ones I explained in my thread)

ps. what's a tank expansion for the BBUMB?

Thanks for that, I'm still in the testing phase, and haven't even mounted air tank/barrel in the shell yet.

If you go back a page on this thread, you'll see what I'm talking about in regards to the tank expansion. I'm not sure if there'll be any range increase, though there should be some. The reason I did this, was it was the simplest way for me to do the pump replacement how I wanted.

Hopefully I'll have some range tests over the weekend. I'll use full-length heavy sili's for comparison, but the issue will no doubt be that I won't be using an RSCB. If there's significant range increase, I'll do a little bit of a write-up on it.

I got a BBUMB the other day and chucked a 30cm length of 17/32 brass on there (12-13 pumps) and it gets similar ranges to an un-plugged Titan with a 1m conduit barrel rammed in the threaded section I.e. Far enough to not bother going to find the dart again half the time.

I'm pretty bloody impressed with it.

I have a pump replaced RSCB (7 shot) and can hit easy 50+m. I'm even looking at making the next one ten shot to try and lower the power so it's more suited to wars. I like the look of the tank you've made and look forward to seeing the results.

Just had a few range tests, and the bbumb dents the colourbond wall similar to the Titan.

I'll progress to range testing tomorrow with some daylight.

    Thanks for the info guys.

Indeed BBUMBs are good, I've hit 200ft+ with my plugged one. That was with 1.5inch 00'ed hotglue bluefoam with a 28cm conduit barrel. Don't have a working one ATM so couldn't get fresh ranges.

The tanks sizes are almost as good a 4B, almost.

yeh gooni, my bbumb is probably at your ghetto level at the moment, so I think you'd be proud of me mate!! haha

With the tank expansion, I'm hoping to get slightly better ranges than a 4B, but only time will tell.

The BBUMB I RSCB'ed for a mate and the missus's DUMBShot (BBUMB based) both pull ing the region of 140-160ft with SLs. Haven't been able to test with Litesilis due to my yard being far to small

haha, it's just dangling in the breeze at the moment. I've looked at a few possible locations, but will get a better idea over the weekend.

EDIT: Completed range testing, with some decent results. Using a 2g weighted blue foam stinger, the BBUMB averaged 238 feet, flat. That's only 20 feet roughly behind the Titan, using the same dart.

I'm fairly stoked just quietly. With the cost of a bbumb compared to a Titan, and the couple of dollars involved in the tank expansion, it's proved to be a worthy adversary!! Although, the bulkiness of the extra tank could be an issue in some applications.

I'm pretty sure to order from Target online, you still have to do it over the phone. You can download an order from from their website, and order out of the catalogue.

That's how it is for Central Qld anyway, not positive about Australia-wide though.

Yeah Clunk, when I go on their website, I can only look at baby clothes and crap.. Go figure, Kmart's competitor and you can't buy onlone.

Why can't I go on Chat Box? Have I been banned from it or something?

Note that Kmart and Target are owned by the same company. Might be a strategy they're using.

I'm not sure about you lads.. But my local targets catalogue says it stocks the 2x NF for $10. I'll go down tomorrow and check it out..

Just make sure, if you're viewing the catalogue online. Change the store location (default for me was Sydney CBD, which is an hour away). That should give you a detailed list of products specific to your local store.

If all else fails, tell them about the catalogue price. It may be a labelling error in store.

Was definitely true when I went to Macquarie this arvo. A whole shelf full of Nerf stuff, including a fair number of RF-20s, Vulcans with 2 belts & 50 darts, ATs, Stampedes and so on.

For Target you have to click on the "personal shopping" or some such link. I done it today to get a couple of Hunters and a LongStrike. Its a bit of a muck around but handy when you are 100km from the closest Target lol

It would help a little bit but not drastically. Your best bet is to just rebarrel and chuck in a c-836 and keep good care with it.

Hey littlebro, since you know so much about Stampede modding, I thought you could help. I just received 6 trustfire 14500s in the mail and charged them for about two hours each.
I then put 4 of them in single AA->D converters and put two of them in two double AA->D converters which totals six D batteries.
Chucked them in the stampede and flicked the switch to the top but nothing happened when I pulled the trigger.
The two batteries in the double converters were only charged for about an hour so maybe that had something to do with it but I thought that with six batteries, I'd get something happening at the very least.
I also haven't checked them with a multimeter yet so I'll try and get on it but otherwise, is there something else I'm missing? Does there need to be a clip in? I made sure the dart jam door was shut as well.

There are 2 clip locks in the stampede, so yes the clip needs to be in.

Vavoom, you need to have the clip in there too, and dont dry fire the stampede too much either, so toss a few darts in the clip too.

I believe i read somewhere that the stampede will not work above a certain voltage (20V+ or so) so that could be a possible cause as well.

You could try wire up less batteries if 6 does not work.

Vavoom - mate, you're better off starting from scratch again.

Test the voltage output of your batteries to begin with. You can do this with the shell opened, and the battery sled inserted, and fixed in with one screw. Just put your multi on the connecting + and - wires from the sled.

And, as Serv said, chuck a clip in there with some darts. There's 4 inter-locks in the Stampede that need to be closed for it to work.

    Cheers,

What do people use to glue sili tips in? Other than hot glue, that is. I've seen inf0rm3r uses a superglue of some kind - any idea of the brand, where I can get it, etc. ? Substitutes?
