I haven't tried it myself, but I'd use a mixture of hotglue, super glue and then epoxy putty as the last layer, because you can paint over that and mould it a bit better.

I used hot glue as the base, epoxy over that, hot glue over the epoxy to near flush with the shell and then epoxy putty and smoothed it out

Secure with epoxy (use rubber bands to apply pressure), and wait til it cures. After that, go fill in the gaps with epoxy putty, but be careful of how much you use because you're going to sand it all down.

Don't use hotglue unless you have to, and if you do, use it only internally.

You can do it, it's just not practical. Reverse plunger blasters don't have the air volume to maximise range. While you might get a minimal increase it'll end up costing a fair bit, go for it if you can afford $30 for an extra 10ft. Why not do a Longshot instead?

Already have one. Was more curious about how it would cope with slam fire.

Slam firing would be cool, but I think if there's a more likelihood that you'll be shredding up darts.

Just one hornet tank witha shot gun load? They will work, but won't go very far.

Some people use multiple tanks strapped together with a single barrel on each.

IS it possible I am hurting the plunger tube of my recon when firing it because it is making loud noises.
I have never actually used a modded recon like mine before so I wouldn't know, any way to pad the plunger without decreasing range?

Reinforce the plunger by adding either oznerfnerds buffers or using tyre bladder rubber by gluing it in with alot of 3day epoxy.

Post  Ungmon Tue Nov 01, 2011 11:43 am

OK thanks, however is it still possible to be hurting my plunger tube even when there is a dart loaded?
Keep in mind my o-ring strangely expanded so I had to replace it with another one which is alot smaller so I added a few wraps of teflon tape so it isn't getting an air tight seal but it's OK about the same as a stock seal...

What lubricants were you using? I don't think a o ring would expand on it's own.

Post  Ungmon Tue Nov 01, 2011 11:50 am

3 in one Silicone spray (safe on rubbers) (worked absolutely fine in my LS and had given me no problems at all so far)

I think it expanded because I put on too much teflon tape before and stretched the O ring. Back to my original question could I be damaging my PT?

Yeap there's your problem. That 3-in-1 silicone spray is bad. If you look in the fine print it should say "do not use for prolong use on rubber". I've used it before and it xpanded the O-ring in my Tetra Strike.

Check out my Alpha Trooper Mod guide. It will show you an alternative of what lubricant you could use.

I don't think it would, there's a possibility that you PT will break. Like I said, if you're adding plunger padding, remember to apply 3day epoxy to increase the strength of your blaster as well as decrease the impact of it as well.

Post  Ungmon Tue Nov 01, 2011 12:36 pm

I doubt it was the spray because it happened in like half an hour which is way to fast for just a dramatic action.

If the spray is the problem then why is there no problem in my longshot?

You'd be surprise how quick it happens. Also that silicone spray isn't exactly frictionless. It's relatively sticky. You will get better performance with your longshot with different lubricants.

The LongShot o-ring doesn't fit the plunger perfectly (unless you've upgrade). I'd give it sometime before your longshot o ring will expand too after some more application of that spray.

I'm only trying to give you good advice. But if you're going to stubborn about it, then that's fine with me. If the spray works for you, then it works. From my experience. It has expanded maverick o-rings, pump o-rings and a whole bunch of RP'd type n-strike o rings.

Modifying your blaster will reduce it's life. End of conversation. You can do things to minimise the adverse effects of it, but no matter what you do your blaster will not last as long as if you had left it stock and gave it the same care.

Having said that, take every precaution possible. It will last longer than if you don't.

Yes exactly as Jeo has said. I know a guy who's got an OMW spring his AT. I told him to reinforce it using my method with the 10cent coin and epoxied padding. It's lasted so many dryfires. (Due to the fact when you run out of the darts, you continue to slamfire until you realise, oh shit, I got no darts left).

If you do a pump replacement or plug the stock pump so that you can get a lot more pressure in the tank than normal you should be able to get half decent range with 2 darts shotgun loaded. As False said though, a barrel/dart per tank is best really.

You might also find those other three tanks are still working if you connect them straight to a pump. Worked for me, doesn't hurt to try.

Ungmon - I'm gonna back up what littlebro said there - 3 in 1 silicone spray is rubbish. Lithium grease in an aerosol can is a bit better, but I'd stay away from aerosol if you can. Grab those Fix-a-Tap ones. A bit expensive in terms of price and what you get per tube, but it's worth it.

I understand you might be a but dubious to claims given your investment and your LS doing fine, but I know from experience "spray lubes" stuff up o-rings especially on Mavericks and the like.

A simple fix if the other 3 tanks aren't working, is to use them as a tank expansion for the 3 that are. Takes a bit of time cutting and epoxying the tanks together, but well worth it in my opinion. with around 20cm of petg barrel, I've successfully hit flat ranges over 150 feet with 1 dart. Would make for a fairly decent shotgun attachment, as opposed to a shotgun-loaded barrel.

There's no mod for it that comes o mind straight away, there could be one. But you do need a dart tooth for the stock breech, so it's unlikely you'd have any mods for it in the first place.

C-580 is what I use. It comes in 4cm lengths and there's three of them in each packet. You can use it in your NiteFinders (You will have to modify the catch a piece for it to fit, but it works a treat). I've got this in my Longshot and Nitefinder and it's SOLID. You will need to get mini plier wire cutters to.

I've dropped this on the grass, thrown it on the ground and it has only disengaged when I threw it with extra force. Dropping on the grass will make sure it WON'T disengage.

    Hope that helps =).
