Ungmon wrote:Ok I got some silicone spray this type
I've not used it yet but I want your guys OK before I do, sais "The silicone lubricant is safe for use on metal, rubber, vinyl, wood, and much more." First im not sure if this includes plastics.
Also since it's a can im worried about what Xoenz which was "I won't use any of the 3 in 1 brand, as they use hydrocarbon to propel the liquid out."
Hydrocarbon is what makes your orings expand.
So what do you guys think?

Clunk did you say (a while ago) that you use that lube on your longshot boltsled or somethinglike that?

Re: The Questions Thread.
Let the plunger's o-ring fit as perfectly as you can in the plunger tube. Use the right lubricants and it's a hit and miss.
Ungmon. Like I said before. We're giving you advice on the right lubricants to use, but if you're going to be stubborn about it, then use it at your own risk.

So, few wraps of e-tape/teflon tape, for lubricants fix-a-tap and crc silicone spray?

Re: The Questions Thread.
Yeap basically. Remember the silicone spray must be FOOD GRADE. It has to specifically say that on the can or else whatever you're using is wrong.
I dunno what food grade specifically means, but that's what they use in airsoft guns's o rings.

While we are at this, is Vaseline usable for Nerf or does it eat away at the plastic?
(I know this may have been asked before)

I personally use teflon tape, not e-tape since it's thinner and allows you to control the resultant diameter of the o-ring better. And it may be less than a few turns. I've got about 1.1 turns on my AT, two turns lost me about 8 feet in range, as did no tape.

Vaseline will destroy the o-rings, use it at your peril.

lol not on my o-rings, I don't
sorry Kat, but yeah you did see me use it, but that was with my bathplug-seal singled TS. I had another can that was silicone grease, but I'm starting to think the aerosol properties of it have a negative effect over time
Sometimes a little bit of context goes a long way, ungmon.
I did use it, then I heard my investment for o-ring lubricants was a bust. Still it proves to be useful in cleaning my hair razor and making nerf plastic shinier.

So it should be fine on my hand cannon with e-tape as the O-ring, if you kinda understand that?238232 wrote:Rooksy wrote:While we are at this, is Vaseline usable for Nerf or does it eat away at the plastic?

Err.... maybe?
Why use e-tape though? Eventually the adhesive will fail and it'll come off.

Re: The Questions Thread.
I think I remember using e-tape on the plunger for my singled TS, earlier this year. Not ideal though, get yourself a 32mm bathplug and then cut it down slightly. That's my method, other people will say it's fine stock

Re: The Questions Thread.
As long as you're using the right sized screwdriver and you're doing it properly i.e. not rushed, you'll be fine.
If it does wear out even at the slightest, I'd replace it immediately.

Re: The Questions Thread.
The spring doesnt sit in the plunger tube correctly, it's too short, and has a far greater potential to break stuff than a proper LS upgrade spring.

Re: The Questions Thread.
Hmmm interesting well the 836 I have was exactly the same length as the LS spring, i pulled out.it was however smaller in diamiter. Seems to work fine for me at the moment. The spring is rated at 11kg which isn't the largest spring I've heard of in a LS.
Edit: after abit of checking up I think whatever was in my 836 bag was not the spring it was ment to be.... It's alot longer than the 101mm a c836 is ment to be.... Strange things are afoot...

Which had more potential to get the best range BBBB or BBUMB? Why?

Re: The Questions Thread.
Depends on which Gen 4B you get. BBUMB's are cheaper, just as effective and readily available. Unless you are a collector, don't bother with a 4B.

I think alot of people would hopper a BBUMB, but we don't have Y pieces and alot of people are too lazy to make it from scratch.
Ungmon, would you like to take over that thread? If you make a new thread. I'll copy and paste all the information on there for you.
