How long a distance are we talking? I find the easiest way for short distances is with my Dremel and the polishing bits and paste that came along with a whole set of tools. Of course, there comes a point where you just can't get the bit far enough down the tube.

I mean a whole length, if need be. The piece I have is just the sleeve for a slide breach, it was pretty beat up, so I sanded it and used the wire wheel. Came up a treat! But yeah, the inside, a big length.

I connect a buzz bee dart to a stick, then I polish away. A bit crude, but works.
Question: What box specification would I need to post a Longshot shell?

IF your going to generate a quote, usually size dimensions don't really change the cost.

Re: The Questions Thread.
I should've said exact box specifications. Don't really care about those online quotes, I'm more into experiences of people with posting Longshots - I went to my post office looking at the boxes, none of them seem to be long enough for a LS.

Use Brasso. Get a long piece of cheese cloth from autobarn, supercheap etc. Pour brasso on cotton wool ball, use a plastic rod to push the cotton wool down tube. Wait for it to dry, and use the same rod to push the cheesecloth all the way through, so there is a tail at both ends. Tie one end to something, and polish the tube.
Or, you could always adapt a gun-cleaning kit if you have access to one. That's what I use.

You always have awesome advice, Clunk! Thanks man. Does polishing the inside make for smoother breech operation?

Very minimal improvement to breech operation, but it does help - obviously only on the 19/32 bolt.
It should aid in less drag on the dart when it's pushed through the 9/16 barrel - assuming your talking about a LS.
Cheers, anytime!!

Re: The Questions Thread.
Nope, like I said, 9/16" is too loose, I'm going for 17/32" and a 9/16" sheath (: righto, so it should be fine if I just clean the inside out with some rag or something, not too important.

Yeh sorry, I keep forgetting about your weather down there. Although I did specify "bolt" and "barrel", the size of the tubing is irrelevant. If you're going to use 17/32, I would make sure I polish the guts out of the inside of it. Even with shrinkage of darts in colder weather, they're obviously going to expand through being fired/handled etc

Re: The Questions Thread.
What do you mean by bolt? I assume the part the barrel slides into, in my example being the 9/16"? Alright, lots of polishing. Brand new brass should be relatively polished on the inside, though, right?

The bolt will be the larger diameter tubing. It nests the dart pusher inside, and slides over the barrel.
New brass will be very clean inside, should just need a quick polish, especially on the ends where it's been cut/trimmed etc

Re: The Questions Thread.
Yep, piece of cake (: ohh, dart pusher.. Sh*t. I'll have to chuck a piece of sanded down PETG or something in there, I'm not buying a foot of half inch just for ten mil of dart pusher.

You'll need 100 mm, but I know what you're saying. Just be careful, because if the darts shrink that much in diameter, they could possibly go inside the petg, rather than being pushed in to the barrel by it. Maybe some 3/8 tubing of some description. Not sure how it will affect air flow though, but I'm sure you'll figure something out.

Re: The Questions Thread.
First double post! Sorry, have to bump it (not even sure if you can do that with a Global Announcement)
Can anyone tell me exactly how much a Raider drum weighs? No scales and I don't want to make like, two or threw trips to the post office.

Clear drum - 325 grams

Just a heads up.
Um, I'm not sure that this would qualify as a question per se, but IF anyone was/is looking for turrets for MIG's Octoshot, they are selling that blaster as a 2 Pack at Toys R Us, Parramatta for $30.
I'd think this would benefit Sydney Nerfers closer to the West end. And there's plenty in stock.
But I just hope no one buys the pack, uses 1 turret, then tries to sell the other other one for more than $10-$12 - I think it's over the top even to go more than $15.

I could've sworn I would've had to spend my time having to get the pack through time and effort expended in traveling and walking in the store, plus initial outlay of the product before even considering wanting to part with the other half.
Also taking into consideration that the single packs were sold at $20 a while back, it says something about your reluctance to buy the other one at not more than $12. Food for thought.

Re: The Questions Thread.
Do you have access to Paypal? (Or are able to order off the net)
Try here --> http://black-tactical.com/store/weapon-accessories-foam-gun-parts-c-69_30/spring-for-nerf-longshot-v2-p-170?zenid=ac516a72ef06d1396e61750ad8506634
If you don't want to buy from there you'll have to get one from someone here as you cannot find good longshot springs easily.
You could try getting a custom spring but, that's not easy.

I lack the technical ability to provide specifications, but the BT V2 spring is phenomenally more powerful than the stock LS spring.
